The reason I was kicked off of FPN was because I called another member
a rude name in a twitter post and the FPN admins pulled my account. I
did this in a fit of frustration after a thread, probably should not
have but I did and am living with the consequences.
I was removed as an administrator because the other 6 thought that the
stress of admin work added to the other stresses in my life was
hurting me and that I would not voluntarily stop so they asked me to
step down.
No emails to minors, no cleaning up messes after me those are the
reasons. No I was just trying to pull my life together after a
hurricane.
I just want to set the record straight.
Kurt
Thanks Kurt.

"Memes are a hoax! Pass it on!"
Kurt -
Thanks for posting. Hopefully the person that posted the smears about
you will explain themselves, but I doubt it. FPN is not the same place
now that you have kicked off. It is sad that when Andy brought up your
rather abrupt departure from FPN, the thread was closed down and never
spoke of again. It's still visible, which surprises me, but the
subject of what is allowed and not allowed on there has never been
brought up again.
Of course bringing up Draconian policies would cut into the always
entertaining cat threads, so let's not even think about it.
Cheers,
John

I wouldn't worry about the fucking consequences. If you got kicked
out of the FPN shithole, so fucking what?

Thanks, but we had basically all figured out that all that crap was
lies from FPN.
I'm not concerned about the removal from FPN as it's just a website
but these rumors could hurt me in real life so I wanted to dispute
them.
Kurt
In case you hadn't noticed it, a few of us disputed them before you
even landed here.
The stuff had the ring of horseshit to it, for a number of reasons.
I did see the refutations and appreciate them. I just don't want
something that could damage me out on the web without me saying
something about it.
I never knew exactly why, until you posted here, why you got the boot
from FPN. I did figure it was something very petty. And then some
jackass comes here and says they did it because you could have gotten
FPN in legal trouble.
That probably came from an admin or a moderator or one of the FPN'ers
who must have complained about you.
Congratulations on being banned from FPN and welcome to ACPP. You can
type out what you like here without having to worry about being told
you're a "guest". That's what they tell people who post on FPN: that
they're "guests" in the FPN shithole.
I can't imagine a person on FPN that would do such a nasty thing but
then again on Pentrace I'm being called a liar by someone who
suprisingly registered quite recently almost as if someone needed a
sock puppet to make sure that I am always seen in a bad light. It's a
bear having to keep defending myself against this muck but it seems
like I have to or it's going to just sit there and fester.
If you've already set the story straight in the various places, can't you
take the high road and ignore them? Wasting your energy and playing on your
emotions is what such critters live for, anyway. Why feed the troll?
I've seen this happen to others. They told their side, then ignored the
malcontent who stalked them awhile before giving up. One started up again
recently, but quickly subsided when the target quickly told the truth then
ignored any other posts about the situation. Interestingly enough, that
particular target was also accused of child molestation (and stealing a
truck). Ludicrous accusations.
Don't play their games. Play your own.

Dude, I wish we could have more FPN defenders come out of the woodwork
and defend FPN here on this newsgroup, but those rats generally stay
in hiding.
And there's really no limit, I don't think, to the depths that a
fundamentalist Christian will sink to when throwing mud, but generally
they wither at confrontations of the sort we are able to provide them
with here on the usenet. They much prefer protected, censored web
boards such as FPN to spread their right wing, reactionary
fundamentalist Christian political thought.
Dr. Dobson's supporters on FPN--we won't see many of those rats here.
I have only been treated with the utmost of good manners by all members
of the FPN, even when I spout my left-wing views. I have never been
censured for my points of view, either by other members or the
Admin/Moderators team.
I really don't understand you. You espouse rabidly anti-FPN views here,
but when replying to FPNers, I have only seen you reply with the best of
good manners. As well, for a site you appear to despise, you seem to
spend quite some time there.
I applaud your self description!

Me neither.
That said, there are days when someone jumps up and suggests Lamy Safari
as a great starter pen, I want to effing scream. I had one that stank,
and yes, I'm holding it against them, but it feels cheap. I'd rather
someone got the next grade better pen from Pilot, for example, even
though that feels cheap. (The 78G is, imho, a better pen than the
Safari at about the same price point.)
But I've got a vintage Sheaffer Touchdown that I spent $25 on (same
price as the two aforementioned pens). Know what?
It's a much better deal as a starter pen.
But I'll bet you don't have quotes such as, "Religion is the opate of
the masses," in your sig file. They have their Bible quotes though.
And I'll bet you've never told them exactly what you think of
creationism--that is, that you think about the same thing of that tale
as you do of Santa Claus.
By the way, you wouldn't know it, I don't guess, but I'm not
anti-Jesus Christ. I'm just anti-a lot of his followers and I'd guess
he'd be too.
And I'm not anti-God either. It's clear something created all this
and upholds it.
Anyway, you've come here and said you're a left winger and they're
nice to you. All I got to say to that is I'm guessing, just guessing,
that you're a well behaved guest in that shithole.
I do understand that there are some lefties on FPN. But they godamn
well better behave themselves.
>I really don't understand you. You espouse rabidly anti-FPN views here,

I don't know who's an FPN'er and who's not. I do know some do post on
FPN--such as Deidre--but whether they post on FPN or not doesn't have
a goddamn thing to do with whether I flame them or not. If you or
Deidre or anybody else wants to hang out in that shithole, that's your
business, not mine. I do go there and look around--but as far as
spending much time there--I really don't. 5 to 10 minutes or so at
the time is all I can take.
However, it's the Lamy Safari that's being sold in stores. One has to make
more of an effort to locate and buy a vintage pen and repair it or find
someone to repair it for you if it hasn't already been restored. Newbies
don't typically know where or how to shop for vintage pens, so they're left
with the Safari. If they're lucky, they'll have other options, but in the
stores I've seen, there isn't a selection of pens at $25 with similar
styling.
As for feeling cheap, it's a lightweight, inexpensive, modern pen. <shrug>
If other people like it, what does it matter to you? It's their money and
their experience. Take a breath and laugh it off. They're obviously newbies
with limited experience. It's not worth the emotion because only time can
cure them, if they're willing.
It's unfortunate that your Safari was bad. Mine is good. I don't like it
simply because the grip and I don't get along in about a page of writing. I
keep it for notes because I like how the nib feels as I write.
That's true, and I should feel more sympathetic, but I don't.
> As for feeling cheap, it's a lightweight, inexpensive, modern pen. <shrug>
> If other people like it, what does it matter to you?
I don't care if they like it, it's the level of enthusiasm that annoys me.
Seriously, I've been thinking about some of my German pens (okay,
there's a few I wouldn't part with) because I have had the same
irritation with the Pelikan fans and Montblanc fans as well.
In fact, I sold my MB rollerball last night, so now every ballpoint or
rollerball I have is Italian.
Heck, I might even put up an FPN poll.
Definitely not selling:
Pelikan Lighthouse
Montblanc 342, vintage
Cleo Skribent Ebonite
Considering selling:
Pelikan Piccadilly Circus
Montblanc Starwalker in Cool Blue
...and probably a pen or three I'm forgetting.

I really would like an old Savanna Green Safari ballpoint again, but only if
it's Apple-branded. Now that was a great pen at a good price.
How would you feel if people were as enthusiastic for pens you own?
See, that'd just drive the prices up on eBay, so I should just shut up
about Stipula pens. :)
LOL.

Your self-description could fit me as well as you I do not discuss
politics on FPN - there are better fora for political discussion. I
have, however, supported other members whose suggestions or comments
about FPN have provoked rude responses from the mods or admins.

I have also always been treated with respect by FPN administrators, but
I have seen them treat other members rudely, and more than once. I
have seen more than one rude, hostile response to posts by Kurt that I
would describe as completely benign, often clever and humorous.

Well, people who read and post on FPN should, as the moderators and
admins suggest, consider themselves "guests".
Guests in the FPN shithole, a shithole run by control freaks who are
apparently among the biggest assholes to run a web board.

Feel free to post examples here on this board and there's not a
motherfucking thing the admins or moderators can do about that. Well,
I'd guess they'd yank your FPN account, but that shouldn't matter to
you, unless you place value on being a guest in a shithole.
So far the only FPN admin or moderator to post here has been Rudhauri
(sp?), and he's not one of the worst ones, as far as I know. But the
other dipshits are too fucking yellow to come out of the woodwork and
face the music. They may be bigshots on FPN, but they ain't shit
here.

Tap....tap.....tap....look at the murky response to Andy in Torrey
Pines question regarding the the moderators letting personal political
affiliations and opinions weigh on their decisions to remove/edit post
as a moderator. Why cant they just give a flipping answer? Why the

Also the most irritating personality flaw of all moderators/admins,
not just on FPN but most web forums...the looks at me I am your day

your opinions.
Not to mention there is some wad that eeps popping into these somewhat
interesting posts and sharing his thoughts....that have nothing to do

closed. Another give me a break moment brought to you by......

I thought a lot of it had to do with the ultra right wing
fundamentalist flagging a bunch of posts and driving the moderators
crazy. I think that kind of thing happens. But as far as the talk
about "civilized" debate. What the fuck is there to debate about on
FPN anyway? Whether Penman Sapphire tops Noodler's Blue?
The moderator, of course, was referring to political debate. But I
think the time for "civilized" debate is over. The time for being
civil is over. When we've got a traitor in the White House, being
"civil" in a debate about this traitor or the traitor's policies,
about his fundamentalist religion--which is every bit as crazy as
fundamentalist Islam--well, to say any of that, I'm sure, would be
cibsudered "uncivilized" on FPN. Any of those statements could
probably get you banned from FPN. So I guess you should say something
like, "Even though he is an honorable man, George Bush was mistaken
about the reasons for going to war in Iraq."
>Also the most irritating personality flaw of all moderators/admins,
>not just on FPN but most web forums...the looks at me I am your day

Fuck web forums and web moderators. But some other sites I've been to
don't seem as insane as FPN. But then the people posting on those
boards are generally not as stupid as the average FPN'er either.
Of course the moderators are dumb asses. To read all of that stuff on
FPN--only a dumbass could read all that stuff and stand reading it.
On other boards I know of, the moderators are not participating in the
threads. That could lead to problems and I'm sure it does lead to
problems on FPN.
>Not to mention there is some wad that eeps popping into these somewhat

I'd go there and have some fun, but I ain't got time for elaborate
trolling these days. Those FPN'ers though--you got to admit that FPN
would be a great place to troll because they'd never catch on. Lots
of times--like when I'm reading some post about some guy microwaving
his ink--I'm wondering, "Is this a troll?"
Damn, the place is already teeming with trolls. Did I spell teeming
correctly? Well, if I didn't, it's not like I much care.

Yep wish I knew who the rumor monger was but will never know- it
signed on and posted then disappeared just like a T. Llum over on
Pentrace. Don't know if they are connected other than to disparage
me. Life is too short to have to deal with this stuff.
