A friend of mine recently picked up an AMI D-80 to restore. One of his
friends is telling him that people will pay upwards of three grand for
a restored one. This doesn't sound right. Anyone have an opinion on
this?

I've sold a lot of juke boxes over the years and I feel that he's
going to have a tough time getting a grand out of it. He will put
more time and parts into it than what he'll get out of it. Especally
with a depressed economy he'll have a hard time selling it. 45 rpm
boxes don't sell like they use to. I suppose if you find the right
person that's willing to pay that kind of money for it, anything's
possible. The AMI D80 isn't a very desirable juke box to start with
so he'll need lots of luck! For what it's worth....Good Luck1
