I have been trying to identify this music video for over ten years
now. I have spent countless hours trying to find an answer. Recently
someone told me about Scopitones (I have to have one now), and I did a
Google search and it seems most discussions about them originate
within this newsgroup.
Does anyone know of one from the 1960's, filmed on a theme-park boat
ride, with a French Elvis-look alike in a red cardigan sweater and
acoustic guitar singing "Yipee Yi Yi Yi Yipee Yay" to a bunch of
redheaded girls dancing with palm leaves? I saw this in its entirety
believe it or not on Pee Wee's Playhouse back in 1991. It was featured
as filler material, or as Pee Wee put it, "Our musical guests". The
end credits did NOT give credit where it was due. Sadly, a year after
I first saw and taped it, it got erased accidentally. The show was
soon after taken off the air for good.
About half of the episodes were commercially released a few years
ago, but unfortunately not the episode in question. I even went so far
as to contact the CBS Archives to no avail, and absolutely none of the
Pee Wee fan groups have an inkling into what I am talking about since
the episode was a very rare one. Does anyone here have a clue about
this? I know someone here in all of their Scopitone knowledge will
have probably seen the clip and know who the mystery performer is.
Thanks,
