I have an AMI Model C that transfers the record from the rack to the
turn table slowly (but gets it there) but on returning the record back
from the turn table to the record rack, more times then not, just stops
after it lifts the record off of the turn table. It will work if I give
it even a slightest bit of help. Is this a weak or worn out motor or...?
I don't want to just throw money at a problem unless I have a good idea
of what the problem is. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Dave

You likely need a new bridge rectifier - this is located in the power
distribution box. Note that when you replace this bridge you MUST add a
fuse to the AC side of the bridge rectifier to protect the transformer
in case the rectifier shorts out.

The value of the AC fuse is no more than the total values of the fuses
on the output - 2A if I'm not mistaken. It should only blow if the
bridge shorts as the other fuses will pop faster.
