Despite hard work by every day, working class Americans, the onerous
"christian nation" sheep have done what they were ordered to do, and
have returned the moron to the White House. They also, despite all
intelligent thought to the contrary, returned nutjob Bunning and a
couple of other misfits to the Senate. The United States now is
repeating repeating recent history...that being the taking of Germany
by the Third Reich in the 1930s.
As I said, I worked a polling place yesterday, all 14 hours of it, and
turnout was higher than even we expected. Polling places were running
out of supplies. Turnout in my precinct was over 70%, a record.
Young first time voters slowed down lines as we had to verify ID and
get them into the booths. Democrats who hadn't voted since '92 were
popping up everywhere, causing them to cast provisional ballots due to
them being dropped from the roster. However, the spectre of church
nutters, all wearing their cross pendants as well as those
characteristically vapid facial espressions, was also there, many of
them "first time" voters. Many were on the "inactive" list and had to
be ID'd, but, MOST curiously, they seemed to know the drill, even
though they appeared not to be able to find their asses with both
hands. It's obvious they weren't turned out to the polls by their own
volition; someone programmed them.
The strategy I had explained in earlier posts WAS working...but not
enough. If you look at the county maps in Ohio, you see that the
industrial northeast of Ohio went Kerry even moreso than they went for
Gore in '00, as did metropolitain Columbus. What swung Ohio was two
things: church nutters turning out in droves in the cow counties, and
Cincinnati, where voting kept going on until after midnight. Cincy
was to at least remain fairly neutral, but there were sudden rushes to
polling lines late in the day, causing lines to extend out of polls
for blocks in some cases. The last poll in that area closed shortly
after midnight, unprecedented. I also believe it was the church
nutters who returned a mentally ill Jim Bunning back to the Senate,
when any sane voter would have disposed of him out of hand. The fact
that these people in that state have a baseball player with major to
severe mental disabilities representing them does not speak well for
their own mental well being, but DOES speak volumes about their
intelligence...the lack thereof.
What the hell happened? Was there some late appeal by church
gröpenfeuhers to rally otherwise politically disengaged members as
foot soldiers? We won't know for weeks, even months, but one thing I
do know...it was the "christian nation" conspiracists who grabbed Ohio
from Kerry, not normal, working Americans.
Kerry's early concession was wise. The nation is torn apart already
between wacko right wingers and normal people. The "left" just
doesn't exist anymore. A protracted legal wrangle to wait until all
provisional ballots were certified and counted would have reopened the
wounds of '00, and confidence in democracy would be further eroded.
In his concession call, Kerry advised the president that the
unification that he espoused during his phony '00 campaign must now
become a reality. But Bush is too arrogant, especially after this
coup d'êtat, to give it much thought, and will now plot a course hard
to starboard politically, further increasing divisions of the
citizenry and setting a dangerous course for America internationally.
The only tool left? The filibuster in the Senate. Right wing wacko
judicial nominations will have to be blocked, one by one, by this
method, as will Bush's (Halliburton's) plan to start drilling in
Alaska, his budget busting no-bid handouts to favored corporate pigs,
and just about everything else they'll try to pull. No more
condescension on things like Iraq...filibuster the bastards into
submission. However, in the long run, if history serves as a template
in this case, it will take a cataclysmic ruination of America, similar
to what happened to Germany at the end of WW II, to get the nation
back on track politically. "Those who do not learn by history are
doomed to repeat it," wise but often misquoted and misattributed words
by George Santayana, loom even larger than ever now.
At this time, I can't see what else we can do to thwart this onerous
blending of church and state. I do know that our forefathers are
shedding tears as they rest, and the entire concept upon which America
was founded is being trampled upon by the hobnail boots of the new
Fourth Reich...the church nutters.

>You and Nudo are just opposite sides of the same coin as far as
>intelligent political discourse goes. The far right and the far left are

Your point of reference is somehow skewed. There's an overabundance
of "far right" in the USA at this point in history, fueled by
corporate greed mongers through far right religious cultism. The
"left," as it existed in the 1930s and '60s, is all but gone. What's
replaced them is the "middle left," the Labor Democrats, the
intelligent, and a paltry few monied "progressives" who can afford to
indulge their political whims. Meanwhile, the right has swelled their
numbers through false promises and assurances from their monied core
to the less wise.
Thus, the "center" has been steadily sidestepping rightward since
Dukakis got his ass handed back to him by Bush the Smarter in '88.
For years, I ground my teeth as "centrist Democrats" promulgated a
"new Democratic Party," marked as being business (and greed) friendly,
not so friendly toward working citizen, and basically leading the
party towards a colorless, aimless mass of condescenders. Even this
new "center" skewed further rightward under Clinton in the second
term, continuing the "can't beat 'em, join 'em" philosophy. What
really worked, however, was the fact that the Clinton White House was
able to reverse decades of over-the-top spending from BOTH sides of
the respective aisles of both houses of Congress simply by a two party
government which depended on consensus, rather than emperor-like fiat,
the hallmark of Bush the Dumber's first term, in order to accomplish
anything of value. Gore was a classic example of this "new centrism"
personified; the right wingers, who will shoot down anyone not of
their own ilk no matter what the facts, worked feverishly for his
defeat, while support from organized labor and academia for him was
lukewarm, at best. Kerry was a far better candidate, but he was
simply too smart to appeal to legions of addled religious cultists and
drunken NASCAR fans...the occupants of the lower half of the IQ bell
curve in the US today.
For a bird or conventional airplane to fly, it needs two wings to
support the center fuselage. Thus, charges that Democrats should be
content to be a "voice of conscience" countering an out of control
right wing are fallacious, at best, ruinous at worst. Again, the
parallels between Hilter's unchecked rise to power in 1930s Germany
and what's happening now in the US are unavoidable. The collusion of
the right wing with American business and banking interests is quite
clear (viewing the statements of Diebold's notoriously activist CEO
are bone chilling), and there's not much doubt that these interests
enjoy using right wing religious nutters as their tool of choice for
political control.
The secret in busting the "church nutter nation" will be, I'm
beginning to think, a resurgence in the mainline Protestant churches
who have been steadily losing membership to the "get rich with God"
cultists for the last 30 years, thanks to the Campus Crusade for
Christ and "Moral Majority sociopolitical movements hatched in the
'70s. Should they go on the moral offensive for once, it would be
possible in time to split the religious cultist vote, thus weakening
them as a tool to be used by corporate plutocrats to retain power.
This will take a long time, however, and is no quick fix. The Roman
Catholic Church, once a voice for the common man, has turned instead
into the biggest of the cults extant. All the liberal and centrist
voices of that church have left due to the stubborn conservatism of
John Paul II and his cadre of right wing fanatic cardinals, including
much-renowned pedophile, Ratzenburger. Hypocrisy is the hallmark of
the Vatican now; they're even denying all the encyclicals of Pius X in
regards to the honor of labor, which was a major boost to the Labor
Movement in eastern US cities in the early 20th century.
I'm content that Senator Kerry did the right thing by conceding early
enough to prevent disgrace and further erosion of US credibility, but
we won't give up. Sights are set on the '06 midterms and
gubernatorials...let's gain some ground there and move forward, not
look back in sadness of what might have been.

Guys, whether you like it or not, the election is over, and Bush won it,
fair and square. Name calling will not change the results. If the
results are not what you hoped for, then suck it up, and work for change
in a positive way the next time.
Thus endeth the only political statement I have to make about this
election. Now back to 8-tracks, and shooting the nudo.

Recently, Gib coined a new word, synonymous with "shit" and several

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/vote2004/countymap.htm
I suggest you look at this map by county of the USA, it's solid
Republican Conservative majority...your Senate leader got his ass
kicked too, along with 3 other baby-killing, gun-grabbing, athiestic
Senators of the Dem party.
You are in the MINORITY, and unless the Dems get rid of evil little
check-collecting nerds like you, soon we will DISMANTLE your liberal
Dem party completely.
Change, or be eliminated. It's your choice. The press can't help you
now. We have the house, the senate, and the presidency- we can do
what we want, when we want.
What you think is inconsequential !!
So much for your "Kerry by 2" prediction, huh Lennonfan ??
AND you lost 4 Senate seats...
AND you lost 4 House seats...
keep it up...every post you make, hurts the Dem party that much
more...
How's this- BUSH BY 3.5 MILLION. And that's the TRUTH. FACT-
something you never deal with in your fantasy semi-consciousness.
Well well well, D-Bob gets spanked for spouting far left wing BS...
wake up D-Bob, most of the guys here like Winnard, Gibson, etc. are
from Texas/Oklahoma/etc. and they most likely all voted for Bush.
Lennonfan,
The "exit poll" information was used in a downright dirty cheating way
in 2000, to try to DISCOURAGE western voters from going to the polls.
This was a Democrat liberal plan that was uncovered in 2000, and the
press didn't buy into it in 2004.
The plan was, call eastern states for Kerry, and then people out west,
thinking Kerry was so far ahead, would not go to the polls and vote-
some of these people travel 100 miles to vote in remote western areas.
If they believe Kerry already won, they wouldn't bother.
That was the plan for Gore 2000, and the press got egg in their face
calling a few states for Gore when in fact Bush won them. This time
in 2004, the same Clinton brass lowlifes tried the same damn thing.
Only this time, even Brokaw on NBC refused to recognize the exit poll
info- instead waiting for actual vote tally. The result- a real
election- not a fudged one using Joe Lockhart and Carville cheat
tactics.
So now, the so-called bs "exit polls" have been proven to be
unreliable and the total falsehoods that they really are- no more
calling states based on "exit polls", they have to use REAL VOTE
TALLY.
So you lost, fair and square. And you have been misinformed since
1992, when Clinton got in. Wake up man, that's not progressive,
that's living a lie, and your party has been trying to win elections
by fixing them for 12 years now. Stop watching ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN.
If you want the truth watch Fox news or listen to AM radio- or read
the papers and make your own judgements based on what your moral
compass and conscience tell you.
You can change- and you should change.
Zieg Heil! Zieg Heil! Zieg Heil!

In another quote, he was espousing some kind of crap about "Jesus

You mean like the ones the "liberals" sent to the polls by bus
so they could vote for Kerry? Damn. The last time the liberals bussed
large amounts of people to polls was in 1960, and it was done through
Sam Giancana's mafia to steal the election for John F. Kennedy. Maybe
you ought to think before you speak.
I've seen the vapid expressions you speak of, by the way. Most
often they have been on the faces of the kind of Hollywood lefties who
are too stupid to make an intelligent argument of their beliefs, and
therefore go to weekend "training camps" like the one Jane Fonda used
to run for such idiots as Rob Lowe and others like him.

You should be careful about your allegations. Anyone who has
