Help,
Can anyone tell me the best type of paint to paint over a coating called
zinga (www.zinga-uk.com) there website just say's compatible paint. My
dealer recommends "water" based paint. Is that not "emulsion" like they use
in houses?

The category of coating that you want to stay away from is alkyd or modified
alkyd products. If alkyd resin materials come into contact with zinc, whether
it is an organic or inorganic, it will saponify and eventually peel. You can
topcoat with acrylic, epoxy or urethane with most zinc primers.

No, no, no,no! Listen to T. Burker! Saying "use latex" or "use water based
paint" tells the user nothing about the resin system. If the resin system
contains an alkyd modification, as many do, it's going to peel. If the
label on a water-borne coating recommends the product for use on galvanized
metal, then that product would be suitable for use over a zinc rich coating.
As T Burker said, you can use a two component epoxy or urethane. A pure
acrylic will also do the job, but it is often difficult to tell from the
label whether the product is a pure acrylic or an acrylic modified alkyd.
