Well I replace my mouse bats about every 2 months and this morning I was
happily drinking coffee, fired up the PC and grabbed the mouse and it was
dead, I confirmed this by checking the little lite on the top and yep it's
dead. I am still half asleep and wondered where my box of bats was, ok
found em, now shit how do I open the damn panel to put the new bat
in.....sooooo I lite up a smoke and think well I guess I can use the touch
pad for a while, then figger it out when I get home from work. That lasted
about 2 seconds. So I look again on the mouse's ass and yep there is the
cool slot the plug slides in when traveling.....hummmmm what is that little
button.....there is writing but I'll be damned if I can read what it
says.....soooo get the old magnifies glass out and WTF says on/off.....well
it was in the on position so I move on to the rest of the bottom looking for
clues and see a little push button.....bingo push that and the top pops open
and I yank it off and there is the bat....ok get it replaced and then go
back to that on/off switch....yes if you switch to the off position the
little lite goes off......LOL....now if I can remember to switch it off I
can make the bats last twice as long.

Amazing I never knew the mouse had a off switch....and the little bastard
didn't tell me either.

Hope this was informative and now everybody turn your mouse's over and see
if they have on/off switches. Oh and report back with your results ;-)

Bats?
In the belfry?

Get a trackball marble and you don't have to slide a mouse around. Can even
put in in your pocket and work sitting at the Starbucks and make people
think you're playing with yo'sepf.

Dang, I had to look at the mouse I use with my laptop to see if it had a
button and yep, sure does. Says "connect" by it.

> Hope this was informative and now everybody turn your mouse's over and see

I don't worry a lot about the battery as I don't use the laptop every day.
Even if you keep it switched off, I'd check the battery visually
periodically because you don't want it to corrode on you without you knowing
it. I used to have a battery mouse for my desktop PC and it was glitching
on me. One day I heard this weird hissing noise in the room when it was
quiet and I looked around to find out what was making the noise. No easy
task when you consider there were multiple computers in the room and the
fans and hard drives are making noise. Turns out it was the wireless mouse
and when I opened it, the battery was literally foaming acid. Kind of
freaky. I replaced it with a USB mouse. I only have the small
battery-operated wireless mouse for my laptop, but I keep an eye on that
battery.

Ok I use it everyday at least an hour sometimes more if playing games. It's
a Logitech travel mouse for my laptop. I came home and wondered why the
lite was off.....had to switch it back on<g>

Convenient to not have to have a surface for a mouse.

Well I have small hands and the little notebook type travel wireless mouses
are just the right size so my hand never gets cramped, have a small mouse at
work too.

They must be near-microscopic, if you can't find a good trackball to
wrap them around. Maybe it's your technique... try gently cupping it at
first, and then gradually explore the whole ball. Don't be afraid to
roll it around with your fingers or thumb, depending on the size of the
ball. HTH

I've watched The Amazing Race, but I'm not fanatical about
it like I am about Survivor. The rest of those shows don't
really interest me. Big Brother's pretty lame IMO.
