To understand reverse or negative processing, you first have to
understand what a process is.
Definition:
PROCESS: 1. A system of operations in the production of something.
2. A series of actions, changes or functions that bring about an end
result. 3. Course or passage of time. 4. Ongoing movement;
progression.
For our best use we take the definition: A series of actions, changes
or functions that bring about an end or result.
ALL OF LIFE IS A COMPOSITE OF PROCESSES
Every minute of every day we are involved in multitudes of processes.
Taking a shower is a process.
Making breakfast is a process.
Going to work, working and coming home are 1,000's of multiple
processes.
EXAMPLE: The process of scoring a ninety-nine yard touchdown. The ball
is snapped to the Cowboys' quarterback, Danny White. He hands off to
Tony Dorsett. The offensive line breaks a hole in the opposing team's
defensive line. Tony Dorsett squirts through the hole, runs for
ninety-nine yards and scores a touchdown. The result: The longest run
in NFL history. The team was involved in an agreed upon process or a
series of actions that brought about the result of that touchdown.
Each player had an individual process that he was engaged in to assist
the team in achieving its objective of winning.
EXAMPLE: The process of raising money for a new product. Several years
ago an inventor developed a new personal computer. He did this while
working out of his garage. Feeling sure it was a much needed product
in the market place, once he had a working model, he began researching
the areas from which money could be obtained. The research led him to
the area of venture capital. He was told he needed to formulate a
business plan. When this was complete, he presented it to the venture
capitalist After much discussion and negotiation he received the
money. The result: Money to market computers, which turned into an
international multi-million dollar company. He also, in the process,
becomes a multi-millionaire.
Plants and trees growing are a acting out a process, as are every other
thing in all universes.
THERE ARE THREE BASIC TYPES OF PROCESSES:
1. A POSITIVE PROCESS
2. A CONFLICTED/DICHOTOMOUS PROCESS
3. A NEGATIVE PROCESS
Definitions:
POSITIVE PROCESS: 1. That series of positive actions or changes of
functions that brings about your positively intended end or result.
2. Ongoing, upward movement in the direction that you intended.
When a Being is subject to positive processing, a positive process or
positive processors their life becomes filled with more and more
optimums and they can be - do - and have their wants.
There are in actuality three levels of positive processes:
A. OMNI-SOVEREIGN POSITIVE PROCESSES:
B. SOVEREIGN POSITIVE PROCESSES:
C. POSITIVE PROCESSES:
These three levels of positive processes are easily recognized by the
continuous causative high mood levels and the Gold and Green Zone Truth
Phenomena present in the individual or area.
CONFLICTED/DICHOTOMOUS PROCESS: 1. That series of conflicted/
dichotomous inactions or changes of functions that brings about an
non-intended end, outcome, result or poor quality end product. 2.
Ongoing, neutralizing counter movement to the direction that you
intended.
The conflicted/ dichotomous processing is also a form of reverse or
negative process as it causes slows, stops and nullifications to
completing a process.
When a Being is subject to conflicted/ dichotomous processing, a
conflicted/ dichotomous process or conflicted/ dichotomous processors
their life becomes filled with more and more problems, conflicts,
inability to think, act or make intentions, visions or plans thus
immobilizing their abilities to decide or be responsible, they cannot
create their own be - do - or have. They can only created as and told
what they want.
This is easily recognized by the continuous indecisions, immobility's
and low mood levels of the individual or area.
To make something happen requires an individual needs to be decisive
and at cause over the area.
NEGATIVE or REVERSE PROCESS: 1. That series of negative actions or
changes of function that counter or prevent you from reaching your
intended end or result. 2. Ongoing, downward movement that takes you
away from the direction that you intended.
The negative or reverse process directly prevents and stops you from
producing your intended result.
When a Being is subject to negative processing, a negative process or
negative processors their life becomes filled with more and more
problems, conflicts, upsets, non-optimum areas and they cannot be - do
- or have what they want.
This is easily recognized by the continuous low mood levels of the
individual or area.
To make something happen requires an individual to be at cause over the
area.
TWO BASIC TYPES OF PROCESSORS
A POSITIVE PROCESSOR: Someone or something that sources, emanates and
gives you, or another or others a positive command or asks a positive
question or helps create you, or another or others into a positive,
effective, competent beingness or identity that can cause a series of
positive actions or changes of functions that brings about an intended
end, outcome, result or high quality end product.
The POSITIVE PROCESSORS targets are to expand your abilities to be more
optimally present, to more optimally duplicate, to more optimally
create, to more optimally love, to more optimally be true, to more
optimally be in harmony, to more optimally know, to more optimally be
responsible, to more optimally be in control, to more optimally
increase the value of yourself, others, areas, subjects and things, to
be more whole.
Whether knowingly or unknowingly the CONFLICTED, REVERSE or NEGATIVE
PROCESSORS targets are to slow, stop or nullify your dreams, goals and
intentions process sequences, to make the environment people, places,
things and subjects more dangerous, fearful, unwanted and
uninhabitable.
They do this by deliberately fixating on what is wrong, bad or evil and
omitting what is good.
They direct and constantly focus your attention on areas of absence,
lies, hate, disharmony, conflicts, unknowns, irresponsibility's, out
of your control areas, constant carping of worthlessness, and altered
importance's and incomplete pieces.
A positive process is anything that enhances and expands you and your
presence, creativity, love, truth, harmony, knowledge, responsibility,
control, mastery, value, appreciation and wholeness in all areas of
life.
A reverse or negative process is any process that lessens or makes
nothing of those positives and focuses on the upsets, wrongness, evils,
and badness in life.
Processes and processing have been on going since this universe was
created, for even creating and maintaining universes are an on going
vast collection of multitudinous processes.

From: C.S.
A few days ago, Alan had me run a positive process of writing up all
the good things I had done as a mother. The following acknowledgement
is the result of having run the process.
It is a very powerful process and I encourage every mother and father
to run it. Thank you Alan for perceiving what process was needed in
order to open up this area.
"A mother's acknowledgment"
I will always remember how utterly beautiful and precious you were when
the nurse gave you to me to hold for the first time at the hospital in
Lake Providence, LA on August 21, 1982.
I adored you. I admired you. You were the most beautiful and precious
baby that had ever been born!
I loved holding you.
I loved watching you.
I loved looking into your eyes and smiling at you.
I loved breast feeding you during the first two weeks of your life so
you'd have the most nutritious milk possible.
I loved talking to you and making you smile from ear to ear.
I loved those occasional naps we took together on my bed and having you
snuggle right there next to me.
Every evening after your afternoon nap, I'd take you for a stroll in
your stroller. You grinned from ear to ear the moment you heard me get
it out of the closet and set it up. I loved strolling you because it
made you so happy.
I loved staying home and caring for you and was heart broken when I had
to go to work when you were 9 months old.
I got hysterical with laughter when you were 3 or 4 years old, exerting
your own "free will" and being defiant when I'd try to stop or
control what you were doing but couldn't do what I was taught to do
(discipline you) because you were so cute.
When you were about 4 years old, I told you to "hold your horses"
because you kept asking me to do something. You told me very quickly
"You did not have any horses to hold".
I loved looking at your tiny little innocent hands.
I read bedtime stories to you almost every weekday night so that we
could connect and bond.
I will always remember the very first picture you took in Kindergarden.
I coached you the night before and the morning before I took you to
school. I told you I would not be there standing beside the camera man
to make you smile but coached you to remember to smile your best smile
as if I were standing there looking at you. A few weeks later, you
came running in the house waving your package of pictures and saying,
Mom, look at my smile! And you had taken one of the most beautiful
pictures you'd ever taken. Your eyes twinkled and your smile was
beaming!!!!
I bought you a Betty Crocker cooking set so that we could have a fun
activity to do together. We put a chair next to the cabinet so that
you would be tall enough to pour and mix the ingredients. You loved
cooking with me.
You wanted a pair of roller blades. I think I saved money from two
paychecks and you saved some of your allowance so we could afford to
get these very cool skates that you so wanted. I took you to Sam's
to buy them and you were so proud of your skates, I think you would
have slept with them on if I'd let you!
I dedicated my evenings to help you with your school work. I wanted
your experience in school to be better than mine!
I introduced myself to every teacher in each grade level to let them
know I was interested in you and what you were learning. I wanted to
best support possible.
My own illiteracy and horrible struggles with school made it difficult
to help you but I muddled my way through it and what mattered to me
most of all, was being there for you.
I really liked your Geography teacher and we both had a great
relationship with her. I could not pronounce all those dam Middle
Eastern Countries you had to learn and I ended up learning there were
countries that existed outside of the USA! You learned to recognize
them by the spelling and was able to pass the test.
I loved making your lunch for you so you didn't have to eat the yucky
food in the lunch room.
I loved writing inspirational and encouraging notes and stuffing them
in your lunch bag.
I loved making you feel special by being the room-mother for grades
1-6.
I loved coming to all the parties at school because I knew that you
loved me doing it for you.
The little girl across the street (Jenny) had a trampoline and you
loved it dearly! We bought Cori, Jaime and you a trampoline in
celebration of your birthday. You were in heaven!
Our first house in Plano was purchased not only because of price and
the beautiful park with the creek and ducks at the end of our street so
you would have a nice environment to play in.
I loved making cookies for you and cleaning your room on my holidays
and vacation days off so that when you came home from school, you came
home to a nice environment.
I loved taking you to work with me at UNUM.
I pushed Gary to get the highest paying job possible so that we could
afford for you to take dance lessons, play softball, play the clarinet
and be a cheerleader and buy lots of cool clothes.
I had all of us in counseling so that we could get along better and I
could learn more about how to be the best mom possible.
I loved watching you play softball.
I loved helping you catch the ball and throwing grounders to you.
I loved your ability to organize!
I loved spending time with you.
I made YOU very important and I loved doing it.
And now, I understand me and I understand YOU and there is more love
than even before.
Much Love
Your mom C.S.

When you process the positive - the second postulate; the negative,
blows to view and easily erases as the negative gets its power from the
positive.
You can process the negative forever, but you are only running second
postulate material and by-passing the true area of charge - the
positive.
It is this positive processing area that disappeared out of Scio., in
1964.

I can see how a negative gets its power (sense, meaning,
intelligibility)
from a positive.
Why do you say that the true area of charge is ....the positive ?
Carol
When you start from the positive (AGPM: you have a positive goal [even
if it's a negative statement, like "to destroy all people who look
happy"], some effect you wish to bring about), you come upon an area
that is more primary, timeless, close to being static, itself. The
purpose-line, what I would suspect is what Alan means when he talks
about the persons Codes. I'm not sure, I don't have a clear
understanding of what he means by that, but what I'm talking about is
the REASON, the purpose behind having a goal. That purpose could
probably be prepchecked as a "prior confusion" profitably.
So, anyway, my point is that "the positive", to me, means what is
intended: a goal, for a purpose. Clearing goals and purposes, is more
fundamental, because the "negative" is just "the positive" interrupted
and incomplete. Unburdening the case is about clearing away "the
negative" to get to "the positive", and is necessary to the degree that
it is necessary. :)

"Our war has been forced to become 'To take over absolutely the field of
mental healing on this planet in all forms.'
That was not the original purpose. The original purpose was to clear
Earth. The battles suffered developed the data that we had an enemy who
would have to be gotten out of the way and this meant that we were at war …
By showing him to be brutal, venal and plotting we get him discarded.
Our direct assault will come when they start to arrest his principals
and troops for crimes (already begun).
Our total victory will come when we run his organisations, perform his
functions and obtain his financing and appropriations."

One can do this by recalling pleasure moments, which to me are times
when a goal is achieved, including "built-in" goals like experiencing
physical pleasure, or psychological goals, like experiencing improvement
of status in a game.
It has unlimited effectiveness, but suffers from a point where there is
diminishing return. When that point is reached, other ways of
processing the positive need to be used.

> Alan C. Walters is right on.
This has always made perfect sense to me.
So why would an area of charge be ....the positive?
- CBW
It is always real time. Right here - Right now.
Running case actually by-passes charge and makes the being more solid
and condensed, unless you run the case from the source point - which is
the being - you are always running too late on the chain.
A postulate or intention sets up the frequency and direction of
emanated particles.
The bigger the beingness the more energy or charge available. Thus more
oomph behind the postulate or intention.
A slight variation of this idea is that anything or anyone that becomes
_identified_ with pleasure or "survival" may later exert an influence
upon a person.
There are a few sentences in 'Science of Survival' that describe the
power of a compliment, delivered at just the right time by just the
right person, to "screw with" or "aberrate" another person.
(Per the pattern of using "enemy tactics" that he himself had earlier
described, Hubbard used this on his own followers. And I can almost
place "old time" Scientologists into two categories: Those who had been
complimented by Hubbard and became, thereafter, putty in Hubbard's
hands - their capacity for independent evaluation of things Hubbardian
destroyed; and those stronger individuals, also complimented, who
managed to maintain their sense of emotional and intellectual
independence. And keep in mind that it's no easy matter to maintain
"one's footing," when the "savior of Mankind and reincarnated Buddha"
tells you how terrific you are. Note: John McMaster and others have
described this experience, which was at first regarded as a wonderful
validation, until it was observed that it made them vulnerable to being
_used_.)
Technically, this would be described as an "aberrative pleasure
moment."
Remember the old story - then movie - 'Hunchback of Notre Dame'? The
poor hunchback was managing to get along somehow _until_ he had the
misfortune of being the recipient of kindness from a pretty girl, and
it was downhill from there!
Motto: Stay out of Church steeples will bell towers and avoid pretty
girls! (Just kidding.)
P.S. Regarding the matter of addressing only "pleasure moments" - It's
possible to do so, in an "ARC Straight Wire" fashion, touching on one
area of pleasure, then another, then another - and doing so quickly,
one after the other - with no "dwelling upon" or attention to "what
happened next." This defeats, to some extent, the negative ("unhappy
ending guaranteed") nature of the (illusory, exists by consideration
only) "time track."
That something begins well and then, eventually, ends badly, is no
reason why the "beginning" cannot be affirmed and celebrated - as
itself - separate from the hypnotic and slavish "demands" of the "time
track."
This action, in auditing, requires a fairly high degree of control, but
mostly requires the auditor to know when to stop, then briefly and
nonchalantly "run havingness," and go merrily on his way.
P.P.S. When doing the above, also briefly addressing a half dozen or so
"perceptics" -"Sight" - "Hearing?" - "Temperature?" - "Motion?" - etc.,
with appropriate language, allows for a "3 dimensional" sense (makes
space). Thus "space" is validated.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to the bell tower, it's
almost the top of the hour.
Should be interesting.
Another area where new work has been done is in the handling of "GPMs."
I think ACW has mentioned this.
Phil Spickler and Phil Scott also have some notable postings on related
topics.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question. I don't think he is
saying that the charge is a positive. I think that LRH was making the
simple point that if you focus too much on the negative for too long:
what's wrong with you, your limitations and weaknesses and failures
and the bad things that overwhelmed you, and so on, the pc goes
downtone unless you refresh the positive. Let the pc reconnect with
pleasure, success, goodness, ability and so on, in balance. When one
is in a higher-toned place, entheta is incongruous and is easier to
confront.

The question was: What is reverse or negative processing?
The answer is, processing out-of-ARC. "Look around here and find
something you don't like. Look around here and find something that is
quite unreal to you. Look around here and find something or someone you
would rather not communicate with."
I am reminded of something that Babe Ruth, the most charismatic and
famous baseball player of all time, once said, "I swing big with
everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I
can."
And there you have it when it comes to charge (life force). Swing big,
hit big, and miss big. The misses when living large are problems,
overts, mis-communications, etc. that cover a lot of territory, a lot
more than when swinging safely and timidly. So as the timid client/pc is
processed/trained to swing big he will inevitably run into the
bigger/earlier game he left out the bottom -- or the future game he
can't see himself getting into. Auditing isn't just about feeling good
about where you are at but also expansion into recovered states and
abilities.

The process which appears negative but will impinge and help create a
bigger game can be found in the introductory and demonstration
processes.
Cannot quote exactly - but along the lines of "what problem could you
be to___________" yourself, mother.....
etc...There are many along this line
These appear negative, but its also great fun to reach out with a
different viewpoint at how 'dangerous' you can be. ALso it is go to try
and switch valences during a process or run charge out of a particualr
valence.
There si also 'rising scale processing' which at least helps people to
get and idea of an area of life form the tone level they are at (often
low) and push it up as high as possible.
But I feel that even these processes are limited. So high scale open
process such as "think a thought" thankyou Ok "think a thought" or
whatever, will handle anything and rehabilite self determinism from any
level.
Ted does raise an interesting point. my first real auditing did involve
me going from the HGC down to Ethics and then HGC and ethics etcc...
And I think that anyone that makes any real change from any life
changing experience will go through many old battles lost long ago.
Look at every decent movie or book ever written and see the journey of
the protaganist.

Besides certain "problems processes," such as "problems of comparable
magnitude," there are processes that "remedy scarcity" in other areas,
and in various ways, (including variations of "creative processing,"
making "mock ups"), all in the direction of resolving a condition.
One method is noticing (and/or creating/imagining) a condition in
others. Obviously this has limited application, but - for example -
with "ordinary" people - not in session - but informally, I've cured
people's hiccups many times by having them notice others, some distance
away, and then having these others, one at a time, "having hiccups."
(Also works for "anxiety," etc.) One should keep in mind, however, that
this should not be attempted with someone who is "extremely neurotic,"
etc., as - with such a person - attention placed on any problem, or
unwanted condition, merely tends to solidify that condition.
Funny thing about even the best parts of "Scientology," it's good for
occasional use and in moderate dosages.
Even if a person spent 6 months being audited 5 days a week, there's so
much that a person can do, without falling into the trap of "auditing
Hubbard's case," or becoming a dust-mote obsessed "is my needle
floating" e-meter junkie.
"Scientology" wants to be pervasive and be seen as the "total answer"
so as to _own_ people, by convincing them it will give them everything
- "total freedom," "total power," "eternity," etc., and that, without
"Scientology," they will, ultimately, lose everything.
Of course, the most precious things are impossible to lose, and
"Scientology" cannot "give" those things to anyone, nor can it take
them away.
