Seems Kobe is the product of a reasonably close-knit family with at
least some sense of family values. (Was he raised religious?) And
Kobe did play his first championship season on the Lakers with leg-
endary NBA "Iron Man," devout Christian, notorious virgin and sexual
abstainer, A.C. Green (now married), of the old 1980s Showtime Lakers.

Kobe & Vanessa Bryant both wearing the Christian cross (August 2, 2003).
a) Christian symbol indicating true personal faith in Jesus Christ?
b) Phony Hollywood fashion statement to appear hip to a young crowd?
c) Instructed to project a public Christian image by cutthroat attorneys?

Does Kobe believe in God? Does Kobe actually read the Bible? Does
Kobe have a private personal faith in Jesus Christ? Does Kobe pray?
Or is it all just bogus, plastic, phony, celebrity "spirituality"?
Is Kobe merely catching a sudden case of "jailhouse religion"? Or has
the fiercely private Bryant been a private believer all along who now
faces four-to-life in a Colorado prison for a stupid one-time adultery?
Have the tabloids been able to uncover any other Kobe adulteries yet?
Or has he been faithful until now? Is Kobe's God merely laying "trials
and tribulations" on Kobe just to make sure he NEVER fucks up again?
And is there perhaps some unforeseen good to result from all of this?
If Kobe somehow gets out of this jam, would he ever cheat again? Or
is he just like so many others who would only repeat the same mistake?
Is Kobe now fucked for life for letting his dick wander for 20 minutes?
Is Kobe really a coldblooded rapist hiding behind pathetic religiosity?
Or is he actually a true believer and faithful husband who just hap-
pened to succumb to temptation one time in a rare moment of weakness?
If Kobe is indeed just another overpaid NBA thug and a serial adulterer
or rapist, one would think he might have learned to choose his "hoes" a
little more carefully by now (or at least have someone do it for him).
Bet Kobe wishes he was "Oldhead" A.C. Green on the night of June 30.

"The Shocker?" That's your claim to fame and you can't do any better than
"God doesn't exist?" Boy, that's a bit disappointing. Well, if God really
doesn't exist then why are you fighting so hard against Him? I mean, if you
REALLY believe that He doesn't exist, then why waste time saying so? Kind
of like boxing at the wind. Hey, I know! Maybe you should change your
name to Shadow Boxer!

He always has been a Christian, from what is in his bio "Mad Game." It is
mentioned many times, from ending phone calls back to an old friend with a
mutual prayer to being part of a spiritual band among other things, and the
book is about 3 years old, so no revisionist stuff there and no reason to
believe it is not true.

No, and there's a lot of cash out there looking for them.

Thanks for the info, Gary. So Kobe and Fisher are the Lakers' Christians, eh?

That sorta puts things in a whole different perspective. Thus far, it would
appear that Kobe has been "blessed" by the royal shaft of Colorado justice in
his very first "inappropriate" relationship -- assuming, of course, that it
truly wasn't rape. Just the fact that he recklessly allowed himself to get
into such an outrageous and precarious predicament suggests he's an amateur.
No bodyguards present? Quick, spontaneous, unprotected sex with a strange
19-year-old white girl in an all-white town, in an all-white county, in pre-
dominately white "Crackerado"? Whose bright idea was that? Sheesh, "the Lord
works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform." Kobe might as well be at the
edge of the Red Sea with water up to his ankles and the Egyptians right behind.
If the DA's case is really as strong and "slam-dunk" as it's made out to be by
some, then even unbelieving Lakers fans might begin to consider hoping for a
miracle (or at least a legal parachute, as it were) for defendant Mr. Bryant.

-Parachute-
An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 passengers on board but only 4
parachutes.
The 1st passenger said, "I am Kobe Bryant, the best NBA basketball player, the
Lakers need me, I can't afford to die." So he took the 1st pack and left the plane.
The 2nd passenger, Hillary Clinton, said, "I am the wife of the former US President,
a NY State Senator and a potential future president." So she took the 2nd pack and
jumped out of the plane.
The 3rd passenger, George W. Bush, said, "I'm the president of the United States of
America. I have great responsibility being the leader of a superpower nation. And I
am the cleverest president in American history, so America's people won't let me die."
So he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped out of the plane.
The 4th passenger, the Pope, said to the 5th passenger, a 10 year old schoolgirl, "I
am old and frail and don't have many years left, and as a Catholic I will sacrifice
my life and let you have the last parachute."
The girl said, "It's okay, there is a parachute left for you. America's cleverest
president has taken my schoolbag."

Yes, he probably is a beleiver. We can never say for certain, not
that it really matters to us.
But it is troubling that he plays for the "Lakers" whose name is a
clear reference to the Lake of Fire prepared for Satan and his
minions. This is why Christians (at least here in California) have to
be Sacramento fans, since "Kings" clearly refers to the King of Kings.
What's even more scary is that I thought it was rather funny!
