Second, please make sure to include a university name or the name of your
home town, whichever applies. If your name is already on the list, please
check to make sure the location is correct, and e-mail me if it is not.
Third, I can't stress how important it is for students to collect
signatures on campuses all over the world. College campuses are our
greatest pool for signatures, so please make an effort to collect
signatures on your campus! If you would like us to send you a poster we are
preparing for putting up at signing tables, please request one via fax. Let
me also **stress** that not only student signatures are requested, so don't
hold back your signature if you are not a student. Organizational
signatures are also accepted.
Below is our new cover letter being faxed with the petition to various
organizations around the world. To sign the petition via e-mail, please
send an e-mail with your name and location to phi...@cs.brandeis.edu with
the subject line set to 'signature'. Fax information is in the cover
letter.

To concerned organizations and individuals,
Enclosed is a copy of a petition to the Nobel Prize Committee urging that
body to reconsider awarding this year's Peace Prize to Yasser Arafat.
This petition is being circulated to students on campuses worldwide, and to
various political and religious organizations. Please sign your name or
your organization's name to out list of endorsers.
By signing this petition you will show that you are concerned about the
moral fiber of our next generation, and that you protest Yasser Arafat
receiving the world's highest award for peace. How can the world honor one
who ordered the murder of women and children? Are we to forget the souls of
his innocent victims and their families who have suffered as a result of
his actions?
If you struggle with either of these questions, come to Boston on November
29th or 30th and join us in voicing our concerns. We are fortunate to have
arranged for My. Kaare Kristiansen to speak for us. Mr. Kristiansen is a
former member of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee who recently resigned from
that body in protest of Yasser Arafat's nomination.
Please respond and protest this miscarriage of justice.
For more details of My. Kristiansen's visit, please call:
Concerned Students for Humanity(ad-hoc)
(617) 731-1324 or FAX us at (617) 731-0037
Please return the following petition, signed, to the above fax#.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Appeal to the Nobel Committee
It has been announced that Yassir Arafat will be awarded the Nobel Peace
Prize in Oslo, Norway this December. Although he has made a significant
contribution to the current peace process, the majority of his life's work
has defied international standard of humanity. The following is a list of
some of his "accomplishments" en route to this honor:
- May 22, 1970. Nahariya, Israel.
P.L.O. terrorists attack a school bus, murdering seven children.
- September 5, 1972. Munich, Germany.
Eleven Israeli athletes massacred at Munich Olympics.
- March, 1973. Khartoum, Sudan.
Murder of U.S. Ambassador to Sudan Cleo Noel, and assistant George
Moore.
- May 15, 1974. Maalot, Israel.
Schoolhouse attacked by terrorists killing twenty-seven children.
- March 11, 1978. Israel.
P.L.O. terrorists attack a bus killling thirty-seven civilians.
- 1985. Achille Lauro Cruise Liner.
Terrorists hijack cruise liner. Wheelchair bound man shot & thrown
overboard.
- Sept. 6, 1986. Istanbul.
Twenty-two Jews murdered while praying in a synagogue.
Can a man with this history be placed on a list of deserving winners such
as Martin Luther King, Albert Schweitzer, Mother Teresa, and Elie Wiesel?
For the dignity of Arafat's innnocent victims and conscience of humanity,
we, the undersigned request from the Nobel Prize selection committee to
postpone giving this award to Yasser Arafat until:
1) He expresses remorse for his past.
2) Apologizes to the families of his victims.
3) Amend the P.L.O. charter to delete all statements calling for the
destruction of the State of Israel.
Signed,
Aish HaTorah
