Quite frankly I'm amazed that people who claim to be Fundamentalist could
attend regularly, be a member or work in such a church
Many evangelical covenant churches hold to the following doctrines and
ministry philosophies
1) Women ordination as pastors
2) The Emerging Church ministry philosophy
3) Church Growth movement
4) Sermons are mostly topical, not exegetical
5) More interested in evangelism and watering down the gospel to reach the
world, than they are in teaching the bible
6) They often avoid preachng on "hot issues" like homosexuality, women in
ministry, abortion, or other issues that offend.
From their website
What is a Covenant Church
a.. Evangelical, but not exclusive
b.. Biblical, but not doctrinaire
c.. Traditional, but not rigid
d.. Congregational, but not independent
The Emerging Church Philosophy has crept into this denomination, so that the
church is not as serious about doctrine as they should be. For example in
the one church I worked in, much of the Sunday @ 6 sermons were taught from
the Liberal Message paraphrase.
After I left this church and moved up North, I did work for 1 year in the
Sunday school department in a fundamentalist church. I worked under the
authority of a woman, but that was because I was working in childrens
ministries.
It was a good experience. However I believe I was called to a more
conservative church, as that church was more of a moderate fundamentalist
church. Not saying they did not teach the bible, as they did very well.

That isn't a job
Have you ever had a JOB
And I don't mean a blow job a hand job or even a spanking job
Mind you it does look as if you might be on the short list for the
schoolchild spanking job
Would someone out there like to drop a line to the Department of Education
(In Jesus name perhaps)
