Yup. The story is that Lee's ba gua was blown off his door during a
typhoon, thus leaving him vulnerable. His name was also a problem:
(from Sarah Rossbach's "Feng Shui: The Chinese Art of Placement,"
page152)
"Even the Hong Kong Tourist Association credits the Chinese name of
Bruce Lee, the late king of Kung Fu movies, with his untimely death
in 1973. At the time of his death, Lee, whose Chinese name was Lee
Shao-lung, "Little Dragon," lived in a Hong Kong suburb called
Kowloon Tong, "Pond of the Nine Dragons." A Tourist Association press
release notes, 'Had he consulted a feng shui master before moving in,
it is likely that he would have been warned against tempting fate. For
in the mythological survival of the fittest, the little dragon must
eventually give way to the combined might of the nine full-grown
creatures who dominate the legendary pond.'
"Reports say Lee knew of the bad feng shui and sought to
deflect it by hanging the octagonal ba-gua mirror outside his
front door. But people say that the mirror was blown off during a
typhoon shortly before the actor's death, leaving him undefended
against the inevitable."
When I got a ba-gua the little introductory sheet inside the package
had the typhoon story too. Rec.martial-arts just had a thread on the
more non-mythological causes of his death, BTW.

"Spring break? What spring break? That was a spring break?"
Watch the movie "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story". They did a great job with
this biopic and fengshui figures prominiently in this movie.
