I love chess but NOT necessarily chess sets! Chess sets has nothing to do
with chess other than symbolizing the pieces. I have no interest in playing
with a chess set that is very elaborate because that could draw my attention
away from the game. The game is what I love.. not the chess sets.

You have to admit, though, that having the standard plastic set and
rollup board is a lot better than, say, a cardboard board with black
and red squares and unweighted pieces that are so small that you can
fit 12 pawns in a sqaure...

Once I have reached the minimum quality that it is no longer distracting,
I don't care about the set. I just want to play.
