No, the only real Fontina is from Val D' Aosta in Italy. There have been cheap
imitations in the market for ages from Sweden, Denmark, and one from Italy
called Fontal. A lot of the Fontal is made in France now. The one called
Fontinella is made by the Stella Co. in the US. None of these cheeses bare any
similarities to the real thing which is more like a Gruyere cheese in nature.
