I'm like an iPhone that can't keep a charge.

Just going to the store wipes me out.

What's the medical term for this ?

Chronic fatigue syndrome, perhaps.

Of you may have had an firmware modification that is designed to slow
you down so that you'll upgrade to a new body.

I feel great, not fatigued.

I just can't do much physical work
without needing to lie down again.

It's probably related to my tooth pain;
I could easily spend every dime I have
trying to fix my teeth, it's so expensive.

Cavities?

Grinding? A splint can help with that. Beware of unnecessary root-canal
treatments (i.e. those where there's nothing demonstrably wrong with the
root).

How is that different from being fatigued?

No shit. I've spent $thousands, the last few years, on dental crowns,
and I have insurance! I love the crowns, though. They look perfect
and are more stain resistant than natural teeth.

I'm a smoker.

When I turn off the computer,
and lay down to fall asleep,
I notice some throat irritation.

Sucking on hard candy takes care of it;
my throat feels good again,
and I quickly fall asleep.

Problem is, all that sugar eventually causes
tooth pain -- not always, but often enough.

I should look into what kind of dental programs
the state as for low income people; with luck,
I won't have to fully deplete my savings.

Of course you do. Smoke is harsh.

Try switching the candy for a couple tablets
of Tums or generic antacid tabs. They will
sooth the throat without the sugar.

You should NOT have to live with tooth pain.

Yes, bad teeth are a problem in more ways than
one. It's not generally well known but the same
bacteria that causes plaque on the teeth tends
to get into your blood stream via infected gums,
etc., and it causes plaque in your arteries which
can lead to strokes and heart attacks.

If your teeth are really, really bad, the cheapest
option would be to have them all yanked out and
get a good set of well made and fitted dentures.

You may well be suffering from COVID-19 and
don't know it. Fatigue like that along with some
difficulty getting a good deep breath is among
the most common of COVID-19 symptoms.

You also might have a mild case of the

Get them fixed, you fool. Your life is worth
more than your money and bad teeth not
only ruin the quality of your life but they
can shorten it considerably.

The last couple crowns I had installed are made
of anodized aluminum. They are the cat's meow.
Unlike the gold ones, they can't be distinguished
from one's natural teeth. Cheaper than gold, too.

Anodized alumimun? Wow, I've not heard of that. Mine are made of
some material can be machined from "blanks" on-site! It's got a
purplish hue, before it's UV cured.

Indeed, but it can be a lot of money, and Relf is poor. I'm getting

Unless my throat gets dry+sticky from sleeping
10 hours without consuming enough water+salt
I never feel like I can't breathe.

And, when that (rarely) happens,
extending the length of my throat,
by cocking my chin up,
is an immediate fix.

After which, I consume water+salt.

Water and saltine crackers work great.

Also, I have a lot of sandwich crackers.

They are cheaper today than they were 30 years ago,
-- both in US dollar terms, and gold terms --
delivered right to my door, a few hours after I order.

Meanwhile, rent, gold, real estate, stock/bonds,
and medical/dental costs have quintupled in price.

Maybe, it's hard to know for sure.

Throughout history,
medical science has been more wrong than right.

Maybe, but I feel great even while working,
I just can't do it for long,
I have to lie down for awhile, then resume.

The heavier the physical work,
the sooner I have to lie down again.

Light work I can do for a couple hours.

Carrying 20+ lbs of groceries up a hill
it is sometimes hard for me,
depending on how well-rested/hydrated I am.

Thanks for the kind notion,
but I doubt it'd come to that.

I'm trying to price it now,
looking for a place that'll do it.

I'm wondering if the discount would be

After spending close to 20K on caps, bridgework, etc. and being told I
was looking at another 5K worth of work I threw in the towel and had it
done. Greg was right about the cost. Where I went it cost 3800
(financing available) for the teeth removal and upper and lower
dentures. The uppers are a breeze. The suction created between the
plate and the roof of your mouth helps to hold them in place. Mine fit
so well I don't even need adhesive for them. The lowers (which I was
warned about) are a different story as there is only your gums to hold

I couldn't afford the implants. I friend of mine had dentures, they
didn't fit well, so she opted for implants. Cost her tens of thousands
as I recall. She's happy with them too. Dentures take a little getting
used to. About a month in my case. But it's been my experience that so
does any dental work, like a bridge or a cap. It just doesn't feel
right for a while. Anyway, no worries about mismatching when both get
made at the same time. And I didn't go for the Hollywood Star bright
whites. I had him match the color of my original teeth so as they would
look appropriate for a man of my age.

Besides "old age", I don't know the cause.
It could be a tooth infection, obesity,
a lack of exercise, and/or something else.

I don't have breathing problems.

I don't have the circulatory problems
that diabetics have -- my toes are pink
and sensitive, not rotting off.

My favorite exercise, walking,
is no longer fun; when not exercising,
I feel fine.

If you're going to be stupid, you have to be tough.

ALWAYS (you moron you)....

... get a second (and even third) opinion, you fool.

What kind of a POS orthodontist does a root canal and
doesn't put a crown on the tooth the same day?

Root canals involve a pretty good sized hole drilled in the
center of tooth and then a roto-rooting with round files to
the tip of the roots, then a real good antispetic/antibacterial
cleansing, then a soft filling for the root canals and then a
hard filling for the hole in the crown of the tooth.

The whole shebang needs to have a manmade crown put
in place to properly finish the procedure because the largish
hole drilled in the tooth's natural crown weakens it considerably
so it easily cracks.

About 42 rollies per day; the tobacco
weighs less than what you'd find
in a pack of cigarettes, maybe 15 grams.

It's about 69 cents per day,
including the Bic lighters.

I roll my own using pipe tobacco;
pipe tobacco has a much lower tax.

Rolling is actually more fun than smoking.

It's 21 $ / MONTH; to wit:

50 Bic Lighters, 49 $, every 4 years.
1.02 $ / MONTH.

54 thousand rolling papers
( 9x 20x 300 leaves ) every 3.5 years.
350 $ / 3.5 YEARS, 8.33 $ / MONTH.

30 pounds of tobacco ( 6x 5 lbs )
every 2.5 years.
350 $ / 2.5 YEARS, 11.67 $ / MONTH.

What I do know is what you overlooked. Checky said the
gum is cut back open and the fake tooth is attached to
the titanium stud. Now, if you knew fuck all about how
gums attach to one's real teeth you'd know that the
natural surface of the gums next to the teeth grow
little fibrous tentacles that attach the gums to the
teeth and make a good seal to keep out bacteria and
viruses and food particles.

Sadly, there will BE none of those fibrous tentacles
where the gum is artificially cut open to insert the
tooth so there will be an inadequate seal forever
where bacteria, viruses, food particles, etc. may
infect their way down to the bone.

Ever heard of gingivitis? That's where poor personal
hygiene causes gum disease which kills the fibrous
tentacles so the natural seal is disrupted and the
gums commence to rot away because of the toxic
environment therein. Ewwwwww!

Is pipe tobacco meant to be inhaled? It's got weird flavorings,
usually, no?

You do it by hand?

I recall, waayyy back when, rolling my own, using Bugler brand
tobacco. IIRC, I used a little machine, to roll/stuff them. It was
surprisingly mild, considering no filter.

Yes, they look like this:

http://Jeff-Relf.Me/Rollie.JPG

I roll them tighter than most people do;
still, mine aren't as thin as "UltraSlim"
cigarettes ( for ladies ).

Not necessarily, depends on what you buy;
I'm not a deep inhaler, I "taste" them.

Yes, barehanded, no devices.

It's more fun to do it by hand,
sans devices ( rollers | injectors ).

Instead of a cotton filter,
I just toss the roach (butt), un-smoked,
wasting a fraction of the 1.6 cent experience.

You contradict yourself. First you say you don't have breathing issues but
then complain about lugging 20 pounds of groceries.

Certain lung diseases are sneaky, they reduce lung capacity without obvious
symptoms when using less capacity than what you have. When you try to use
capacity you SHOULD have but don't, you tire quickly. When resting you are
perfectly fine.

You are the equivalent of a 2 pack [of 20 cigs] a day smoker, that does a
number on lungs, even if your cigs are smaller than the usual.

How embarrassing. I almost feel sorry for him. Almost.

It could be one of many things or a combination;
no one knows -- the cause(s) may never be known.

Age is definitely a factor, no doubt.

If I die early, so be it;
60 years is plenty, I think.
