Here's what I practice doing in my sem 2 academy class,If you type
in "start erase" in global config mode then type "reload",the router
will restart and the running config will be gone(its stored in volital
ram) when the router comes back on and it cant find a config file it
will prompt you to enter setup mode and enter a simple running
configuration.With that it will tell you that if you need to add
further configurations to do it through command line entries.Or with
the simple config up you can get your file from tftp then "copy tftp
start"check it out make sure its what you want then "copy start run"
Im sure im doing extra steps or something,Im just in semester 2 ccna
academy but this worked for me.
