front side bus?

I saw a computer today that said it had a 100 mghz front side bus
speed. Is this reffering to the external databus speed, but not the
expansion bus speed?

Yes is referring to the BUS speed the CPU is running at. The CPU speed is
a combination of Front Side Bus (FSB) speed and the CPU multiplier.
Therefore a P3/500 would have an FSB of 100MHz and a CPU multiplier of 5.
The advantages of a faster FSB are higher memory speeds and higher CPU
speed support.
