PNY Memory?

I won an auction for what the seller described as 256MB PNY memory. Also
stated that it was brand new and package was opened only to remove upc code.
I get home from work today and it was in the mail. Open it up and its PNY
memory packaging with what looks like generic memory. Seeing how I never
bought/seen PNY brand memory before I was wondering if anybody could tell me
if I'm overreacting. The memory chips have Samsung with numbers written on
each one. There's a sticker over 2 chips that states "256MB, SDR DIMM,H", 2
lines of barcode, and "32WHS STK 4544703" at the bottom of the sticker.
There's no PNY logo on anything on the memory stick. Seeing how this is a
rather well known brand I would think they would make some effort that their
components are labeled as such. One more thing, the memory looks nothing
like it shows on the PNY packaging. And I also thought DIMM memory had chips
on both sides of the stick, this only has chips on one side.
Am I overreacting or do I have very good reason to get in touch with the
seller and possibly Ebay?
TIA

The pic on the package is generic. They
won't waste the time and money to change it.
Some memory modules do only have chips on one
side. As for no PNY branding on the stick,
this is normal. This is because most people
never see there RAM chip so they don't care
who makes it. The Samsung you are seeing is
the actual maker of the chips that are on the
board. PNY buys these chips and puts them
together on the stick and makes RAM. HTH

Samsung is actually a great brand. I wont settle with nothing less than
Kingston tho..

I find that amusing. Kingston doesn't make memory at all, they just buy
it from other firms (Samsung being one of them), pacakge it and resell
it. The have no chip foundries. Also, a few months ago, they shipped a
huge amount of RDRAM that was either defective or mismarked (the best
guess is that it was good PC800 RDRAM but it was labeled and sold as
PC1066), and it caused huge problems for lots of people. I will give
them this, however, they did honor their lifetime warranty and they
stood behind it totally. Still, given a choice, I'd rather buy from an
actual manufacturer of a quality product (Samsung, you are correct that
it is a great brand, possibly the best) than from a PNY or Kingston or
or Mushkin or Corsair that's built a "reputation" among people who don't
know that they are not even a real manufacturer of the product in the
first place, but rather just a packaging, marketing and sales company.
