Another reason would be that A+ seems to be more generally recognized than
network+, and I have found that my cisco CCNA certification isn't worth
anything without a core certification such as A+. It kinda like "yeah you
know everything about networking, but do you know how to use a PC?"
The a+ is easy, do it first. Then Network plus.

Yuppers, just like being MCSE without the A+. Both of these is almost
a pure requirement to use together before going out job-hunting. Here
again your basically saying, "Great, you know everything about Windows
2000 but we still use Dos/Windows 3.1/Windows 95,98/NT4, do you know
how to use them?"
