Hoping someone can clarify something for me. I'm in a market
(Burlington, VT) where the most recent PRL (50048) had the Sprint PCS
roaming yanked (SID 4106). However, I still have the previous PRL on
my phone that support PCS roaming, and when I am on Sprint's network
the phone properly display's "Extended Network".

Soooo, my question is can I simply NOT OTA the new PRL onto my phone
and continue to roam on SPCS? I'm confused as to how the billing
system coordinates with the corresponding PRL on each individual phone
ERI to ensure that things are billed properly.. Is Verizon's system
actually that "smart?" Or do they just assume everyone has the latest
PRL and bill accordingly?

I hope my question was clear!

Thanks,
Kevin O

The PRL is, indeed, connected to the billing.

However, something I've noticed is that customer service will help you out if
the place from which you're roaming shows up in Americas Choice.

In other words, if you do not update the PRL on your phone, you might be
charged for a call because your PRL is putting you on SprintPCS when you should
be on USCellular or someone else.

However, as long as the city is in the Americas Choice list of places covered
by Americas Choice, customer service will credit you for the calls.

:)

I know, because I use the programming menu on my V60 to set my phone to DigOnly
in a place that the PRL would have me roaming on an analogue system. Leaving
my phone in DigOnly makes the phone seek out SprintPCS 1900, but then I have to
call customer service to get the credits.

P.S. I'd have emailed my response, too, but your email address would set off
every robot monitor between here and Whitehall!
