I am traveling into an extended area over the weekend and will be on
the
fringe area of the extended network and off network area. Wondering
what
I should be looking for on my VX-1 to know if I am on the extended
network or
not?

Also can anyone tell me what the most recent PRL is for the AM Choice
and how to check the version on my VX-1?

Sorry I don't have the answer you're seeking, but I was seriously
considering an upgrade to the VX-1 until the Verizon rep told me that it has
"poorer reception" than their other phones. He was trying to steer me to a
Motorola flip phone (had a $50 rebate, don't remember the model #).

So, could you please let us know your experience with reception over this
weekend? Thanks!

On 6/7/02 7:32 PM, in article ug2s06j...@corp.supernews.com, "Byron

The VX1 will show that it is in an extended area at the bottom of the
phone's screen.

The most recent PRL on my phone (V60c) is 50038. On the Sharp Z800 I have,
it is 50037. Both phones are on AC. Go figure.

If it was either the v60c or the 7868 he was right, as far as superior
weak signal capability is concerned.
