This is a very minor update to 50143, but the changes must have been
important enough to Verizon for them to release a new version of the
PRL. Here's the changes!
VZW = Verizon native area - no triangle
FR = Free roam/extended network - flashing triangle
RM = Roaming - solid triangle
NEG = Negative Entry - will not roam on this provider
A = Analog Only
D/A = Digital/Analog
D = Digital Only
PCS = PCS
--------------------------------------------------------
The following areas changed from RM to FR.
--------------------------------------------------------
1608 D/A Litchfield County Cellular Inc.
610B Oregon 5 - Coos
--------------------------------------------------------
The following areas were added as FR.
--------------------------------------------------------
393 D/A United States Cellular JACKSONVILLE NC

Thank the Verizon Network Gods!!! I have been TRYING to get ANYBODY at
Verizon to admit that a large part of Southwest Oregon (along I-5
especially) was ROAMING due to system 1608. I was just down there this last
weekend in Roseburg and my phone was roaming. I of course forced it on to
system ID 1607 (US Cellular) to avoid this, but it was irritating none the
less.
P.S. It may still be worth it to force your phone to USCellular since
system ID 1608 is not 1X capable (and hence will drain your battery faster I
believe).

Are you saying that USCellular is 1X capable. In my experiences in Southern
Oregon USCellular is analog in many places including parts of Roseburg.
Granted the analog performs really well in the rural areas.
Yes, when in Roseburg this last weekend once I forced my phone to only
associate with SID 1607 I had great strength 1X coverage with my LG VX 4400
in Roseburg.

These questions will probably require multiple answerers:
How do you do that with a 4400?
Is either Sprint or USCC Extended Network in Chicago?
What are the SIDs for Sprint and USCC in Chicago?

Yes. Makes a huge difference. I usually ended up forcing Sprint PCS along
I-5.
