Has anyone used the LetsTalk.com website to sign up for Verizon
service? I want to use them because they offer the Audiovox 9100 for
$19.99 with a Verizon service plan. Does anyone have any experience
with LetsTalk? If so, are they a good company to deal with? Any
information/opinions would be welcome.

Lisa,
There has been little posted about LetsTalk in this newsgroup, good or
bad. However, I was an affiliate of their web site and their
affiliation coordinator emailed me and told me they were dropping
LetsTalk from the affiliate program. I don't know the reason why, but I
certainly don't need the grief that may be generated from a company who
gets bumped out of any online program, see we took them off our web
site.

The ones we do use are at:

http://www.mountainwireless.com/shop.htm

we affiliated with each of them a year before we posted them on the web
site (except Best buy) to see if they had any complaints. This does not
mean there is anything good or bad about Letstalk, but for some reason
users here don't talk much about them.

One of the services we deal with, 1-800 Mobiles, has the 9100 listed, at
the same price, $19.99. I'm not trying to steer you to our web site and
away from LetsTalk, but I do caution you to actually read each company's
terms as to how they handle problems and returns, no matter where you
go.

"I used them last month. I was VERY satisfied with them and their
customer service. I ordered 2 phones with service. One phone was not
working correctly they immediately sent me another phone and a
shipping label to send back the other phone. I always got someone on
the phone easily. I would definetly use them. They also set up the
correct service no problem

Deb,
Customer service after the sale is so important. Great to hear they
followed up for you. Did you initially order through LetsTalk online or
on the phone?

I recently bought a silver LG TM510 from them for $50 after rebate on
Verizon AC service (1 yr). The phone shipped quickly and I've had no
problems with the phone. I do have two complaints on LetsTalk: first,
customer service was poor (I had to write numerous e-mails to get them
to honor their own rebate); second, and this is minor, the phone did
not come with the latest software.

Overall, I'd buy a phone from them again simply because you can't beat
the price. They'll match lower prices within 7 days of your order. I
chose Letstalk over 1800mobiles because LetsTalk allows you to return
the phone with no cancellation fees if you've used it less than 30
minutes, while 1800mobiles only gives you 5 minutes to try the phone.
Of course, if you buy direct from Verizon, you have two weeks to try
the phone regardless of usage.

Beware also that if you later cancel your Verizon service after the
trial period, LetsTalk will charge you $150 in addition to Verizon's
early termination fee. But if you know what you want, I'd buy from
LetsTalk and hope you don't have to deal with their customer service
dept. Check out the following link from Bizrate to see others' review

Thanks Bill, Deb and BSL -- really appreciated your input. Was
considering joining AAA just to sign-up for their Verizon offer (and
get the Audiovox 9100). I'll give LetsTalk a call to get more details
about their service.
