Stopped in at the Verizon Wireless store in White Plains, NY today to have
my v60 software brought up to date. They agreed to do it, but a few minutes
later the tech pulled me aside and advised me to wait. He showed me 2 memo's
(lotus notes type) concerning problems with the current new software
version. He advised me to come back in about 2 weeks and hopefully these
problems would be ironed out. He also had a concern that if he tried now to
update the software that I stood the chance of loosing all my phonebook
entries. All that he told me seemed legit. Anybody have any feed back or
hear a similar story?

I just upgraded mine yesterday. The only problem I noticed so far was I lost
the voice dial entries. Otherwise, everything else stayed the same. I got
PRL 50017 in Arizona on the v60c using the SRW plan. My phone now roams on
SPCS when no Verizon digital is available.

Under the Network settings, there is a new option called "Srvc Settings."
The choices are Automatic or Manual. Anyone know what this does?

I DID lose all my phonebook entries when I had my v.60c software updated at
the retail store here (SoCal) this week. The jury is still out regarding
bugs- I've encountered a very minor one so far, but I can't say I've put my
phone through its full paces yet.. I haven't seen any must-have
improvements, so I'd recommend sitting tight for a few more weeks like the
store employee recommended.

Can you elaborate on what the memos he showed you discussed?

Frank

Minor bugs, I only scanned the memo's but I recall him saying the new
software corrected current bugs and created new ones. Sorry I couldn't be
more help, should have tried to get copies.
Maybe a stop to the local Verizon Wireless store near you will produce the
same memo's....Good Luck

Can you tell us where in So Cal you got your V60 updated? Everywhere I've
checked hasn't been able to do it.

Thanks

I had mine upgraded (V60C) and didn't loose the 234 numbers in my directory
and the phone has worked fine since although it didn't have any problems
with the previous version. What I get now is the new features.

I'm dying to know if the one bug that surfaced for me (so far) with the new
software is a quirk on my phone only, or widespread. For any of you who
have upgraded your v.60c's, and have something programmed into phonebook
location #1 (I've got my voicemail access # and passwords there)- if you
speed dial by pressing and holding the "one" key, then go back into the
recent calls/dialed calls menu, does it accurately reflect that call in
dialed history? For some reason, even though I've got location #1
text-labeled as "voicemail", my dialed history lists "Bob" (another of my
phonebook entries) for every call that I speed-dialed #1.

Hope this makes sense- Thanks in advance for checking...

I was able to get it flashed at the Verizon store at 67th Ave and Camelback.
If you have a 7868, there was a posting here about a new software version
since I had mine flashed.
