A bunch of people have been receiving calls from 408694335 which is not
a valid U.S. number. When I answer there is no one there. At first it
looks like a valid number, until you count the digits.

Anyone have any idea what this is about? Looks like someone is spoofing
the caller ID which is illegal if they have an "intent to defraud, cause
harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value."

No idea what it's all about, but do remember this being an interesting

I don't answer any calls that don't have a name attached to the caller
ID or do not leave a message when screening.

So, assuming you are talking about on a cell phone, and verizon doesn't pass
on names with the caller ID, only people in your phone book

No, actually I'm talking about my non-Verizon home cordless phone. I do
have a Verizon cell phone, but very few people have my cell number and I
recognize their phone numbers.

I have received a few 9-digit phone calls recently. Enough of which that
I have blocked all 9-digit caller IDs.

So many junk calls these days. A landline without a blocking feature is
unusable.

The last few weeks I have been getting 9 digit numbered phone calls from the same area code in which I live (Texas). It started out once a day now it has increased to 3 X per day, each number is different. Getting really aggravating and spooky at the same time. I removed all references of any money cards off my c-phone just in case it has anything to do with stealing money I don't have. Anyone have any suggestions?

I got a call from a nine digit number 604-531-026 I have blocked now but do u know what spammer uses this number or how I can find out where it's from?

Probably no way to find out where it originated, since caller ID info
is basically usesless these days. A lot of calls seemingly from local
or even national locations are actually coming from overseas.

Spammers can and often do fake the calling info. Go to 800notes dot com
and poke around the reports from others who have gotten spam calls. ID
info comes in all varieties.

If we were in Poland, that would be a domestic (Polish, +48- ) cell number.
As we're not, though, it's some sort of made up hack.

+93 is Afghanistan; 79 86 63 68 is an 8-digit Afghani phone number. Lookups
of this sort can be accomplished using Google or the page

Of course, that caller-ID number *might* be spoofed. HTH. Cheers, -- tlvp

I have been getting these calls for about 3 weeks now and it has increased to about 6x a day. Always a different number so don't know how to block them. Is there a way?

Most likely a scammer call or a predictive dialer that will not say anything
when you answer it just marks your number as active and is passed on for
actual telemarketer calls.

9302825002 There are some complaints about this phone. It is useful to examine the complaints.
