I realize that Verizon has disabled the functions that allow you to use
your photos for wallpaper on Motorola e815, but can the Transflash card
be used to save pictures you take and transfer them back to your PC?
What are you allowed to do with the removable TF memory?

I have successfully taken pictures with the E815 and saved them to the trans
flash card. I then transferred these photos to my pc. I have not tried
photos taken with my digital camera on the e815.

I have a 256 mb trans flash card. The res is not that great on the phone,
so 256 mb will hold a lot of photos.

Thanks! I'm trying to decide whether I even want a camera phone from
Verizon, since you have to pay the $5 a month for picture messaging.
It's good to know there's a phone that I can transfer images to on to
my PC. Sure, the pictures aren't great quality, but it would be nice
to have the ability in case something comes up that I just need to get
a pic of.

Unless you plan to take and keep over 20 pics a month 25 cents each to
send is a better deal.

Haley -

I just got a 512MB transflash card + adapter (fits into a standard SD
slot) for ~$52 on Ebay including shipping.

I really want the MP3 player (long commute, no CD player in my old
corolla), so I bought the big memory + the flash memory reader + a USB
port expander.

What I can't figure out is, do I need to download an MP3 player
application to get my phone to act like a real MP3 player? I can't find
ANYTHING in the manual for the E815, and the menu seems to be oriented
toward playing one song at a time.

Does anyone know more?

I have all sorts of multimedia on my laptop, and can transfer most to the TF
and use em (pix, mp3's, etc), just run into trouble trying to save large
MPEGS (both a 7 and 8 mb file) and play em with the media player on the
phone.

Actually, there is a very simple method for taking pix and using them as a
background.. Take a pic, and then attach it to an email to a non existant
number (like 555-5555). That puts in the error/not sent bucket, and from
there you can use it for a background..

Using the media player that's built in, I just create a play list of the
mp3's I want to play (or play/shuffle)

On my own 815 I can readily transfer pictures back and forth between the
transflash and phone (both ways)..
