I don't know about you, but $5 seems a little light in comparison to the
nightmare you could have with Sprint doing Auto Payment out of your bank
account or credit card.
Eric
So for them to offer you a whole $5 for their saving many multiples of that
EVERY YEAR is not prudent in view of the protection against billing errors
provided by not allowing automatic charging to your credit card or checking
account.
Clearly the move is aimed at making Sprint some more money (or saving it, in
any case). But... how much is your time worth? Many people would willingly
go to automatic billing just to avoid having to spend the time each month
sitting down to write a check. I would be more concerned with how much
leverage you lose by having to get, say, an overage back from Sprint once
they've already charged your account rather than when they're still waiting
for you to send them a check.
If wireless providers go the way that banks have in this country, soon
they'll be charging you to talk to customer service or to _not_ be direct
billed. Now THAT would be evil.
SprintPCS tried that already, and happily backed off. They do charge you
for paying at a SprintPCS store however.

Actually, we charge you for any payment made when talk to a rep. The
automated machines, online, via *3, that's free.

Typical SprintPCS Customer unfriendly policy.
Where's Smith complaining about this new alias for defeating filters?
I'm right here, and I don't have a problem with Rob changing his ID to avoid
Spam ... It's not like he does it THREE to FOUR times a day like you do
Phillipe.
LMAO Phillipe. You really do take the cake ...
Bob
New Alias? I'm still using the same name, hypocrite. Not that it's any of
your business, hypocrite, but I'm on a different PC than normal.
