Roaming in Hawaii - Big Island?

Believe it's strictly analog roaming for now. But hey, turn off the phone

Just came back from there 2 weeks ago. The engineer at the Hilton
Waikoloa told me there is no Sprint coverage. I had excellent ATT
coverage when I was there roaming on US cellular. Just to let you know
if you do roam on analog they have 2 cell sites on the hotel there, the
antennas are omni directional antennas not flat panels like here on the
main land. One is US Cellular and the other is Verzion. I stayed in the
Lagoon tower and had a cell site right above me. The whole island has
analog coverage. I gave my sprint phone to my girlfriend and got AT&T
for myself because I know that Sprint didn’t cover the Big Island. US
cellular coverage is great even had coverage in places you didn’t think
you’d have coverage in like the Volcano. Have fun it’s a nice island.

big island has (verzion) old gte and (nextel) (voice stream) and if you
look at sprint web site they have a small site there .

i love my nextel i1000phone

In October we were on the Big Island. No coverage at Kona Airport,
but minimal coverage at Kona Village next to Four Seasons. Signal
coming from Maui??? I don't know, but I as able to make digital
roaming calls from there, but signal was weak.
