But the original poster may ask, which is better? Yahoo or Infoseek? Of
course I'll get another lamo that will say neither of those search engines
are good and that neither CDMA or GSM is better, but some other thing is
better....So this is a chain message basically.

I suspect a more important variable is where you live and work
relative to the coverage pattern of the carrier(s) you are
considering. All things being equal the older a system is
the more likely it is to have full coverage in its claimed coverage
area.
>gsm it much better.
If it is, folks like Aerial tilt the balance to CDMA.
They still havent gotten the kinks out of their
computer/billing system. They cut off my service without warning
cause I hadnt paid a 40 day old bill, even though my account
balance had a credit balance by the time of cut off.
It really does depend on where you use it. If you are going to travel to
Europe and other countries, then GSM is probably better for you (provided
you have GSM coverage in your area). Otherwise, I'd go w/CDMA/AMPS (you MUST
get a dual band phone to get decent coverage), because 3G technology is
based on CDMA, and if you want to upgrade when it comes out, it will be
easier (and you'll probably get a better deal) if you don't have to switch
providers.

Of course the real answer is, "it depends."
If you're really interested in comparing the technologies, check out
http://www.arcx.com/sites/. There are some good write-ups there that
are reasonably informative and objective. But I have a feeling your
post was just a troll.

Man, what is the problem? You hate Sprint. Your not on SPCS. Yet you still post and
read this group everyday! That is trolling behavior. Trolls get flamed. That's
they way it works on Usenet. Learn the rules of engagement before you complain.
And about SPCS' service. Many of us (the majority, hell 99%) have no problems with
the service. Why is that so hard to believe? Why would we hang around if we didn't
like the service? That wouldn't make any sense! You had a bad experience and maybe
a few others but that isn't the norm. The people that complain on Usenet about
service or aother issues represent maybe .09% of the entire SPCS user base.

If you don't like Sprint go somewhere else. You don't have a contract. Get

You're opinion is that SprintPCS sucks, well that's fine. I work in the
industry on the periphery, and unlike you being a mis-informed consumer,
know what's really goign on. I dont' work for Sprint, I have affiliation
with them other then I moved to them over PrimeCo and Ameritech because I

So I'm an idiot in your eyes because I stay with SPCS? I like their
service. I feel like I get very good value for my money. If such
sensible behavior makes me an "idiot", then what does that make you?
And "countless posts"? Well, let's see. There are maybe a half dozen
people that have posted bad opinions of SPCS and stated that they
switched to another provider. Let's say an even dozen to be generous.
That leaves oh around THREE MILLION people who are apparently satisfied
enough with SPCS to stick around. Maybe you slept that day in Stats.
With 99.9996% of SPCS's customer base being the satisfied type, I can
see where SPCS is really failing at their job. An obviously flawed
analysis, but I'm certain you follow my reasoning being one of such
elevated intellect as you are, Nick.

We understand you're completely dissatisfied with SPCS. You have
related your personal experience, shared your opinions, and satisfied

your posts. It's just that most of us are quite tired of hearing the
same droll complaints from you so repeatedly. How about some cheese to

Statistically, there will be those who have had very similar experiences

"...You [the user/customer] agree that all claims bewteen you and Sprint PCS

That pretty much nixes it. The agreemtn covers everything from deposits to
usage, to fees, what have you. A class-action suit is against the contract
this guy went into when he started using the service.

I should thank Brad, I suppose. I had long forgotten the levity found in
juvenile pugnaciousness.
I guess in some places, Sprint does actually work. But, like you want me to
see the oppisite side of MY opinion, and understand that in some places
coverage is good, I wish you would see the opposite side of YOUR opinion,
and understand that in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, coverage is
unacceptable. And that is my problem with Sprint, plain and simple.
But I do have to agree with Troy that at this point, it's getting old, so I
will stop antagonizing you guys (even though it was in fun!). And so I will
finish with one last statement (that I've made before): If Sprint works well
for you, and you don't have any problems with your bill or anything, then
great. That's how wireless should be. But it just seems that an inordinate
amount of people are having problems. Where did that 99.9996% satisfied
customer base figure come from?!?
Anyhow, this is like water under the bridge at this point. Let's just agree
that we had different experiences and that Sprint PCS is suitable for some
users, and competely unsuitable for others. Cool?

I issued the caveat with my post that this example is obviously flawed.
I afraid the people who post here are nowhere near an accurate
statistical sample of SPCS's subscriber base. My absurdly skewed
percentage was simply a humorous exercise meant to illustrate that you
are one of a precious few who are dissatisfied to such a degree.
We're talking about a service provider, not a religion. I completely
agree with you that a person must use which ever one works out best for
his/her specific application. It doesn't matter whether it is SPCS,
BAM, ATT, C1, etc. In my case, it *is* SPCS. In your case obviously
it's not. The right tool for the right job, Nick. Don't pick up a
screwdriver then whine because it's not a hammer.
Maybe you would have done well to lurk for a few days to understand that
most posters in this NG like SPCS. From this experience perhaps you
could have crafted a more effective initial post that conveyed your
facts and feelings without making you look like a complete arse as has
been the case.
I'm happy that you were a child prodigy, although disappointingly it
would appear that your learning curve has not exactly been linear (or as
we say down home, "I don't think all your dogs are on the same
leash."). And if we're getting out the income yardstick, consider
this: I'm 35 and happy as a clam making $61k to sit around on my arse
all day, listen to KRXO (Classic Rock) with volume set on stun, and fart
around with UNIX servers in OKC. Pretty good "bang for the buck" as I
see it.
I guess I've wasted enough bandwidth for now. The signal-to-noise ratio
in this NG is bad enough as it is. My apologies.
And another thing. Of the thousands and thousands of customers Sprint PCS
has, do you expect everything to go perfect all the time? What kind of
mindless ass hole would expect such a thing? What do you do for a living?
How would you like me to come over and bitch about how you screw things up?
Dude, you just need to let go. Don't forget your medication. Issues . . .
