Incoming (POP3) is pop.sprintpcs.com; outgoing (SMTP) is
smtp.sprintpcs.com. You also have to check the "authentication
required" box. - sheureka

Suppose one wanted to set up MercuryIM or a separate email client on a
phone (for example, to monitor an AOL email account) ... what should be
entered into the Server field?

Don't forget about IMAP. You can use imap.sprintpcs.com for that, but since
they all point to 63.167.114.16 you don't have to worry too much about what
name goes where, as long as it is one of the three listed here.

I'm not sure this was your question, but you can go into your planner
on sprintpcs.com, then go to email and then setup, and add up to five
pop3 accounts to check from your phone. I just don't know whether AOL
runs a standard pop3 mail server. - sheureka

That sounds convenient -- I'll try that.

My question related to programs like MercuryIM that, in their setup
process, displayed a box labeled SERVER: followed by a blank field. I
didn't know what to fill in and it was required, so I deleted the
program.
