I have owned my 5300 almost 3 months now, and by far it is the most
noticed phone I've ever had. Even my early StarTac (with its small
relative size) did not elicit many significant comments. Most
interesting for Sprint's marketing efforts, I think, is that people
actually recognized the phone as taking pictures even before I said
anything. Maybe Sprint PCS can use this advantage to try to move up
from it's "undeserved" spot as the #4 wireless provider.

Anyone else noticing this phenomenon?

All the time. Every time I go to my local watering hole, lay the phone on
the bar, and someone new (who doesn't know me) sits in the next bar seat,
it's the first piece of the conversation. I then explain how it works, show
off some pictures on the phone, how I can email it immediately to an email
address or a compatible wireless phone, and they get real impressed.

I could never get girls to talk to me before.
Now that I have this cam-phone, women are drooling all over me.
Thanks Sprint!

When I get to the bar I sit around all the guys with the 8100 silver
phone and color screen. I whip out my Nokia bright red with the black and
white screen. The ladies just swoon over it and I do not go home alone.

Actually lots of people notice my phone, but then ask of it's a picture
phone and I say , sadly no... and then they walk away :)

I like that on LOL. When I call people they ask if I have a color screen I
say no and they hang up.

I finally got laid!

Thanks SPCS.

I don't just show hot people, I take their picture. The phone is great for
stalking, also.

And Blackmail too, when one notices someone at the bar who isn't suppose to
be with *that* other someone ... <veg>

I find more and more people that know about the "phone that takes pictures."
However, I can still impress those people when I surf the internet and show
them photos I have that are broken down into small strips.

With those photos, I can pan around the whole image instead of look at one
photo that is too small to see anything. It is sort of like phonefiles, but
you don't have to wait for the update, since the complete photo is on the
phone to start with.

Thanks.

My friends Nokia 3650 gets more attention than my 5300. :-(

I guess it's all those American Idol ads and buzz about the Nokia.

Holy crap after reading this thread I now want to ditch my 4900,even
though I have 2 digital cams already.
Most notice I get with my 49 is kids smiling at my color screen when I
check the time, and the funky chicken ringer draws attention too.

Some may be, but a lot of folks have taken notice of my phone, while it's
just sitting on the bar ...

Yes I know but try putting it down on the bar to attract the ladies

Well, I set mine there so I can see if I got calls (I can attract ladies
all by myself!), and I'm not the least bit worried about someone stealing it.

I store my phone in my butt when I go to the bar.
Not only is it good icebreaker conversation with the chicks,
I also know that it will not be stolen or at least I will know when someone

tries to grab it.
Oh yeah, and I set it on vibrate just as an added bonus.
