I'm not totally sure to be truthful, i'm kinda new to this stuff.
I have a nokia 3310 which gives the "Contact Service" error.
I'm told it's V 5.03 right now, and NHM-5.
I hope that gives you some idea.

Right, that probably wont sort it. one easy way of fixing it is to:
Flash a 5.13 mcu and ppm flash
Flash an eeprom with no imei data or sp locks etc
Write the imei and sp lock data
Update FAID.
Phone will now work.
I have all the software/flashes to do this.
