I wonder if you can help: I bought a Nokia 8310 from a car boot sale
recently and it appeared to work OK - it accepts all sims and the
phone functions OK, until you try to make a call: It makes a curious
noise like "DOO DOO DOO, DOO DOO DOO" and doesnt call the number.
So, thinking that the phone was locked, I downloaded the Code
Calculator Software by CyberGSM v 2.0 and entered the IMEI of the
phone to gain the 'unlocking' codes.
However, when I entered code 1, followed by code 5, the phone
displayed a message saying "the action cannot be undone" or similar,
and so the phone is still broken!
Any ideas on whats wrong with this phone and how I can bypass the
problems?
Many thanks,
Gavin
Sounds very much like it's barred (i.e. reported lost or stolen).

You can't.
Gavin, almost definitely the phone's IMEI number has been blocked by the networks, the phone is more than likely stolen. Such are the joys of car boot sales.
