Hi All,

I received the following e-mail from Callplus customer service in response
to a inquiry. The icallplus and ecallplus website are covered with claims
that there are no roaming charges, but...and I quote

...You are likely to be roaming, so please keep in
mind that there are roaming charges for our service.

If you have any other questions or problems, please email us again at any
time. We are doing our best to always serve customers better.

Per the icallplus website

carrier, you'll be roaming. You will see "Extended Area" or "Roaming" on

There is no additional charge for roaming.

Right, You are not charged for roaming.

I have a question for you. Up untill 3 days ago whenever I placed a call I
was given my minutes balance. Lately I havn't. Are you still getting yours?

I dunno, I haven't received the service yet. We only use a cell phone when
we are travelling, I have an att free2go Nokia. My wife and I will be
travelling seperately a couple of times this year so I figured we could get
a second phone and check out the callplus deal. The main benefit for us is
the "No Roaming Charges". Given that they have already changed the rules on
me before I have even received the phone or gotten a number, I am starting
to wonder about them.

As of two weeks ago there are no roaming charges *IN THE US*. Canada
*IS* roaming -- 85c/min (but that's better than what the IS-136 side
of Crap^H^H^Hingular charges)

Are you talking about AT&T or eCallPlus?

AT&T has the 85 cent roaming charge if on the local plan and outside
one's local area. National plan may not have roaming in the US.

eCallPlus has no roaming charge in the US, and calls to Canada and
many other countries are charged at the local rate, although one has
to dial a bunch of numbers to get through. See the details at

CallPlus. While LD to Canada from the US is included in airtime
rates, roaming *in Canada* is 85c/min.
