Also....... is anyone familiar with ATT return policy?? If I buy this
service + new phone, and the coverage is not at least as good as my current
Nextel coverage, do I have a period of time to return the phone and cancel
the contract?? How long?
I guess this also a request for the input of anyone using ATT/GSM in the
Orange County to LA area as to the quality of coverage compared to other
carriers. Thanks.

I've not used the phone beyond Irvine, so I cannot comment on this part.
What I will say is that I found that areas that did not have AT&T GSM
coverage did _not_ roam...I couldn't even access another network. (In my
case it would have been Cingular's.)

30 days is what they gave me.

I've found the coverage to be equal to, and in some cases a little
worse, than Cingular. It is much worse than Verizon. I haven't used
Sprint or Nextel, so I cannot comment on their coverage.
The story changes in the Bay Area, by the way.
The coverage with ATT in somme parts of Irvine is bad, especially in
the Amhest Aisle apartment area close to UCI. But I don't have the
GSM.
Coverage in Irvine is spotty and poor in the Amherst Aisle apartments
across from UCI. Only one reception bar. I don't have GSM though.
