Also can't complain about customer care. They've always been courteous and
treated me right even when I've knowingly been somewhat wrong. Had a few
problems with rebates, but a quick call to customer care always took care of
them without hassle. Had one instance of an improper roaming charge which
was credited immediately. The bill each month has never "surprised" me. The
$50 AT&T v60t phone I recently got was also a nice touch ;-) No complaints
here.

However I got the Nokia 3360 from ATT and I think it's fairly weak. It
wouldn't be a bad phone except for a few things.
1.) It just feels cheap, I think this is because Nokia has the
ExpressOn Cover or whatever they call it, this makes the phone crackle
when gripped in my hand. I do have big hands, maybe I just squeeze it
too hard.
2.) The 3360 also has no external antenna the sales person I talked to
assured me this would be no issue because the technology was such that
it wouldn't make a difference. I disagree, again maybe it's my big
hands but just by holding the phone I usually lose a bar or two of
signal strength because I can't hold it properly the way the user
guide recommends. (Other than that it's a great phone, just hate the
phone mixed with me.)
Other than that it's been pretty sweet.
Best of luck,
Shannon Orem

A few years ago when the One Rate Plans came out it was a boon to me as I was
constantly roaming and it WAS very expensive. Now it is bearable.
I can change plans up and down as need be with no penalty thus adjust my
spending according to my work load.
AND although not always as knowledgable as I would like the Customer Service
answers right away and there is no unusually long wait times to speak to
someone.
>how do you rate your attws service?
Overall, I would rate their service #1 with Sprint PCS, VoiceStream and
Cingular following in that order.
Although Cingular service is good their choice to cut way back on 611 and 800
number calls to customer service to regular business hours certainly was a
mistake making me put them at the bottom of the list.

Sprint PCS (since May 1997) - 3 phones
AT&T WS (since June 1986) - 1 phone
Cingular (since April 1984) - 2 phones
Voicestream (since December 2001) - 2 phones (also on MTN Mobile in Africa)

For non-GSM, Verizon may be the best bet in Chicago.
On average, fair. Is anything else better overall? Probably not.
I travel a lot and find that AT&T works much, much better for me when
I'm on the road (e.g. Baltimore, New York, Orlando, San Francisco)
than here at home in Los Angeles. I get an awful lot of dropped calls
here, a problem I didn't have with Sprint. The call drops are really
annoying. I'm not certain that I'll renew my contract early next year
unless GSM is up, running and humming along nicely.
