OK...here we go: I'm currently not on the Ecallplus/AT&T network but I
am interested in becoming a customer. I just have a few quick
questions for all of you on the network already.

1. How is the sound quality?
2. How is the roaming?
3. Can I recieve calls while roaming as well as place calls.
4. How is text messaging?
5. Does their network support ringtone downloads from an outside SMS
service (i.e www.thumbs2wap.com)
6. Does the phone display AT&T or Ecallplus?
7. Do I have to dial 1+area code+number, or just the number (if i am
already in that area code?

Thanks to all of you who can help. Steve

1. Same as it would be with ATT
2. Same as ATT
3. Yes, you can place. Recieve? Depends on which roaming system you are
on.
4. Text messaging is good. yourn...@mobile.att.net
5. Yes if you have a phone capable I think it will work since it runs on
the ATT network.
6. Can't say, I set up an old Cell One phone, and changed my banner to read
ATT.
7. Depends on your area. In NJ 10 digit dialing is required on all phones.
Otherwise probably not.

Mike did a good job of answering most of your questions; your phone
will probably display AT&T in the local area, and "extended area" in a
digital TDMA area, and "roam" in analog.

Outside your local area, you will dial a number, and then may get
connected to a familiar AT&T voice which will ask for your cell phone
number, your PIN and then ask you to redial the number you are
calling.

Make sure that AT&T covers your home area well and that you get an
area code that is a local call for most of the folks who will be
calling you, or you may not like the service.

But if AT&T is strong in your area, and you are a low volume user,
eCallPlus is hard to beat.
