OK, I'm advised that my SPRINT phone won't find the Sprint Network in SB.
AT&T was recommended by the guy selling Cingular (bait & switch? - wouldn't
Cingular be happy with this!) --- but my personal experience w/ AT&T in
Illinois and their billing department was so horrific three years ago, I'm
not willing to be BURNED twice by them. Anyone have actual hands on
experience w/ ATTWS in Santa B - and is it NETWORK service w/ full amenities
of CID, Voicemail, etc?

Moving soon.

We've been using AT&T in and around S.B. for several years. Coverage is
very good. As with any carrier, there are some weak spots in the canyons,
etc., but overall, we're very pleased.

I'm told by a reliable source that Sprint is in the process of building out
S.B. County to "vastly" improve their coverage there.

Hi,

I have been using the ATTWS service in Santa Barbara since 1987. I
have not had anything but excellent service. I have been using
Pocketnet (Ericsson 280LX) since it became available. I have been
very satisfied although I mainly use it for checking my POP e-mail.
BTW, Sprint is available here but it coverage is spotty from what I am
told. I tried PacBell 2 years ago but coverage was horrendous. It
may have improved but I am satisfied with ATTWS so I have not tried it
recently.

Best regards,
Ray
