BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 or other retro phones

This is a thread for anyone who wants to discuss the BlackBerry Bold
9900/9930 or any other 'retro' smartphones (I'm also a fan of webOS
devices, and have an HP Pre3). Introduce yourself here. Start posting
here or in the newsgroup. I don't think anything could be more "alt"
than this....
As for me, I used to post at CrackBerry under the username Shuswap. I
maintained a couple of useful threads there, devoted to helping people
keep their Bolds going: a guide called "BlackBerry OS 7 (maybe 6)
WITHOUT BIS" and another called "the Bold 99XX Working and Dead Apps
List." A little while ago, I became frustrated enough with forums and
social media to leave them behind. There's no great mystery or
controversy there. I just want control over my own stuff.
So I'm posting here and I've moved all of the information
from my old threads onto a website: http://darkstar.x10host.com/nibble/
One more thing: I realize that alt.cellular-phone-tech gets more
traffic, but they've got their own zen going in there, so I decided to
post in this group instead. I'm expecting zero responses, but who knows?
