Do anyone have any knowledge, hard facts or just pointers to
investigations into the stability of writeable CD-ROMs? I know about the
accelerated aging tests done on standard CD's. But one-shots are created in
a totally different way from pressed CD's. I get the impression, that they
might not be nearly as stable, as standard CD's. And then there is the
higher error-rate. How much higher, anyway?
Any info, guesses or pointers would be welcome.

Stability of writeable CD
As writeable CD's are created by a photographic process, they are
unstable to Ultraviolet light. I'm not sure that leaving them in the sun
will necessarily destroy them, but a pressing plant engineer told me that
putting one in a photocopier and copying it that way (to send a visual
record by fax) erased one. I haven't tested this with ours though.
