Installation from .iso file

I have backed up all my install cd's to external drive as .iso. I tried
using a MS program, VCdControlTool.exe to create a virtual drive but
can't get it to work, windows explorer can't find the drive.
Has anyone used this program or know of a similar program that will let
me run the file without burning to a cd.

Haven't used it, but WinMount seems to be a standard in thus area.

The name of the download file is winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe, it's
a freebie from MS, I tried it again but can't make it work.
I tried WinMount, it is very good and is shareware. I found a download
phantomcd_setup.exe which is freeware and works ok. WinMount has a
better interface.

Daemon Tools used to be the virtual/emulation software (even running
copy protected images). Seems it has gone through some major changes
since 9/06, the last time I checkd, now separated into Pro and Lite
versions.

Run the VCdControlTool GUI, click "Driver Control", click "Install Driver",
navigate to the VCdRom.sys file; click "Start", then "OK". Click "Add
Drive" to obtain a drive letter (Z: by default), then click "Mount" and
navigate to your ISO file. Windows Explorer should now see it.
