That means you've probably got a copy of Doug Love's hated "Spelunker's Guide."
Legitimate maps of caves in that area appeared in the 1973 NSS Guidebook. Join
the NSS, the library may then loan you a copy. You could also inquire at the
Indiana Karst Conservancy website.
Ellers cave is closed. The barrel entrance to Queen Blair collapsed in 1979 and
there is no intention to reopen it. The others, as far as I know, are still
open.
Some of the caves shown in the 1973 guidebook are also now closed for various
reasons. Really, you're best bet is the IKC.
E-Mail me if you need more info.

Salamander is closed. Sorry, I forgot to mention that one. There is a large
conspicuous sign placed by IKC.

I suggest that you join the NSS (www.caves.org). You can then order
the 1992 NSS Convention Guidebook which has maps to a number of
Indiana caves. Salamander is a closed cave because it is not on IKC
property. The barrel entrance to Queen Blair is open, so I don't know
what that other person was referring to.
Eh what's left of the barrel...it's probably "close" to collapsing.
And really all of the IKC caves need prior permission, plus Coon and
Grotto contain the Indiana Bat...most Buckner's area visitors probably
don't realize it..well except for the big signs by the entrances, but
you know :)
On a similar subject, could any of you explain the connection between
the spring/barrel entrance and "Thunder Hall" entrance of Queen Blair?
a fellow caver and I were looking around for the connection once but
didn't find it. We came in through the spring entrance and were in
Thunder Hall, and he thought that maybe it was in one of the holes
along the ceiling which weren't too accessible... We already knew the
surface location of the Thunder Hall entrance, though I haven't been
in that way personally to try and make a connection.
I didn't realize there were this many cavers from Indiana poking
around on this message board :p

Ahh, thank you. I think Mr. Beima and I both thought the "barrel"
entrance was referring to the rusting barrel of sorts in the spring
entrance. Troglodite mentioned earlier that the barrel entrance had
collapsed, and I had the two switched around.
