I just got back from my wonderful day spent at Point Pleasant,
where I met The Beast, Dan, Gerry, and Sarah.
I dont have the flare for words like Sarah does, so I'm just gonna
lay it on ya.
John and I picked Sarah and Gerry up from the Ferry at 11:30
this morning. I get out of the car, and walk over to Sarah to give her
a hug and kiss hello, and she proceedes to pick be up. I almost died...I
thought
she would get a hernia.
Intro's go around because they've never met John. It's all good and we head
off to New Jersey.
We did alot of talking in the car, basically getting to know eachother more,
and saying how cool it was, that we actually are meeting.
We get to Kathryn's at 1:00, and Dan still wasn't there...We were an hour
late, so I was praying that nothing went wrong. I met Kathryn and Tim, and it
felt
like I knew them almost my whole life. Dan walked in 5 minutes later, while I
was
in the bathroom. When I came out, I ran right over to my Pet to give him a big
hug...and he too picks me up. I swear, it was a conspiracy.
The first thing that Kathryn did was to give us scrolls of our offcial
titles...They're
beautiful, and once again, thank you for putting your time into it. Dan gave
us
pictures that he drew...They're wonderful...so everyone start nagging him for
one.
Sarah came with Flakes for everyone...and I brought the MEAT.
We went up to Kathryn's porch and looked at pictures that Sarah had taken while
in Scotland. Man, you all need to see these pics...so hurry up Joe and get
them up on the web page. We talked and talked...alot about Joe and Wag <eg>.
(Wished you were there buddy). Everyone in the Castle, was with us today.
Later we went down to the beach. It was beautiful, the perfect day for it.
The water was a bit nippley, but I managed to stay in for a while. I even
tried riding the waves on a Boogie Board but that didnt work out to well.
I ended up sideways all the time.
We took more pictures on the beach, and once again, I thought I was
gonna give Dan a hernia.
We went back to the house and had a wonderful dinner. The Bar-B-Q Haggis
came out perfect, and we toasted to Joe, our Websire.
After dinner, we all went for ice cream...where I got more pictures, these are
of Dan licking his huge cone. After the ice cream, Sarah needed to buy a shirt
to
add to her collection, so we took a walk on the board walk.
When we got back to the house, it was time to say our good byes. (sorry we
didn't get a chance to make the Smores Gerry). The day went by so fast, and I
was really sad, saying good bye to everyone.
We took Sarah and Gerry back to the Ferry. And here I am...writing to everyone
to let you all know about some of the wonderful people we have living in The
Castle.
Gerry- Although I just met you, I know you'll have no problem fitting in and
having
a great time. You're really funny, and fun to be around.
Sarah- You're wonderful...I felt so comfortable hanging out with you...You
made me laugh, and think, and gave to me, my dungeon.
Dan- My Pet...My gentle giant =) You had me rolling today...You're everything
you are on the ng, plus more.
And ....Kathryn, The BEAST...you're a comforting soul. You welcomed us into
your home, with the kindness and love thats hard to find. You have the
presence
of a Queen, and Tim is very lucky.
I want to thank all of you for making John feel like a part of The Castle. He
had a great time, and is looking foward to doing it again...Dan, he thinks
you're great. I knew the 2 of you would hit it off.
Well, this has gone on long enough...and Im sure you'll be reading more from
Dan,
Sarah, Gerry and Kathryn.
Good-Night Everyone!!

Ok, only one question though.
A Boogie-Board is like a Surf Board, only not as long. Basically
you lie on your stomach instead of standing on it like a surf-board,
and when a wave comes you ride with it. However that's not how it
always worked yesterday, usually the board would win that race.
>I'm so happy for you all--now if you could only

We all took pictures, I'm sure I can speak for all of us that once we're
finished developing we'll make great haste to put them out to the web.

(blushing modestly) OK - I'm sorry this is going to be a bit of a `What she
said' post. I wish I could do a whole long report like I did for meeting Joe,
but I had hours to work on my own computer over a period of several days when I
wrote that, and currently I'm in transit and scrounging computer use from
friendly natives. (Actually logged on to Eva's at the moment, in fact!) But
I'll try & add a few comments!

Well, I'd been instructed by Joe to pass on a hug, so I was just practicing to
do that later. Wouldn't be a Joe Lamb Hug if she wasn't swept off her feet.
:-)
......
>We did alot of talking in the car, basically getting to know eachother more,

And it really _was_ cool - I felt at home with Eva from the start. It was so
great to meet her at last!

Second _both_ opinions. Thanks so much for your hard work, you guys, and it
was well worth it. Kathryn, I'm gonna get those certificates framed and put
up.
>Sarah came with Flakes for everyone...and I brought the MEAT.
I forgot Flakes had been requested in some distant thread until late the
evening before I left for America. Fortunately the late-night supermarket
round the corner from my flat stocked them - but they didn't do bulk packets I
felt a bit silly taking 20 individual bars to the till! Oh, well, at least I
remembered them!
>We went up to Kathryn's porch and looked at pictures that Sarah had taken

Showed them the ones of the Castle (the real bricks-and-stone Castle.) There
was a general consensus that there was too much pink in the Castle's colour
scheme and that redecoration is needed. Apart from that, the Castle was
unanimously voted as being quite something to see. And, Joe - I _must_ e-mail
you a couple of the comments to help with captions.
> We talked and talked...alot about Joe and Wag <eg>.
I'm hazarding a guess that Wag is delighted to read that we were talking about
him, and Joe is torn between delight and extreme paranoia with the latter
winning by a short head. Am I right? :-)
(Stop worrying, Joe - I didn't tell them anything that would defame your good
name!)
>(Wished you were there buddy). Everyone in the Castle, was with us today.
You betcha.

I couldn't even find the board to get on it without my specs! But just jumping
the waves was fantastic. Sooooo long since I've done anything like that - I
had a marvellous time. Some of the bigger waves absolutely clobbered me,
though - I'm glad witches can't drown! :-)
>We went back to the house and had a wonderful dinner. The Bar-B-Q Haggis

...who, following the first half of that sentence, is unfortunately now too
apoplectic to read the second half and know we were thinking of him.... oh,
well!
........

Oh, thanks a lot. Did you actually _mean_ to phrase that to sound as if I
dropped my ice cream? (Wouldn't surprise me at all, you evil woman :-) ) I
would like to make it quite clear that the T-shirt buying was not _caused_ in
any way by the ice-cream eating.
Anyway - Anyone who's read my biog on the website will know I collect T-shirts
big time. I commemorated the first group Castle get-together by buying my
152nd and 153rd T-shirts. Both are ocean scenes against a background of
stippled blue. Both are lovely pictures full of movement and life and colour
but with a suggestion of things lurking in the depths - yet the menaces are
under control. One has pictures of dolphins (for Eva) and a Thing with
tentacles hanging down (ready to be walloped into submission by Dan, our
trainer). The other has a picture of a seahorse in the foreground. Anyone who
has a good memory for past threads will hopefully realise that I chose this
specially to commemorate KAH and the way she gained her title as the BEAST.
Now, don't you all agree I found the two perfect T-shirts to commemorate our
meeting and the Castle as a whole? :-)

WHAT SHE SAID.... emphatically so. It was a truly wonderful day all round. I
agree wholeheartedly with her assessments of Gerry (of course, I'd met him
before and already knew what a sweet person he is and how funny he can be), Dan
and Kathryn. I'd also like to add that Eva is one of the friendliest, most
extrovert, good-natured, all-around fun people it's been my pleasure to meet.
I got on with her from the start, and I'm so glad I got to come round to her
house tonight and meet her and John again! They've made me truly welcome here,
and I thank them both from the bottom of my heart. And I thank Gerry, Kathryn,
Tim, and Dan as well, for the most marvellous of days. Having that day as well
as that wonderful weekend with Joe - can life ever get any better than this?
And the even greater thing is that on the Castle, it probably _can_!
I'm sorry this is so rushed and I wish I had more time to post about this, but
it's late at night and I need to get through more posts and clear all backlogs
before I head west to a city where I have no helpful friends with computers.
(Oh, well - I'll have to check out the San Francisco cybercafes. I'm only
checking out temporarily, definitely NOT leaving!) But I did want to post this
and let everyone know how very, very much I enjoyed this historic Castle
meeting. Big hugs to ya _all_.

Yes, you can get from one side of NZ to the other in a day.
Every year we have a race, called the Coast to Coast. The
record is about 11 hours. Not walking, but cycling, mountain
running, kayaking, then cycling again. My son entered in the
two day team section (two members) last year. He and his partner
did it in 14 and a bit hours.
Do you want me to enter your name for next year? (eg)
