Toleration is not the opposite of intolerance but the counterfeit of it.
Both are despotisms: the one assumes to itself the right of withholding
liberty of conscience, the other of granting it.

18 out of 25. How many matches in a book of matches? I've never
smoked, so how would I no? And so on.

Matches generally come in boxes in Britain, and in larger quantities
(matches are also used for lighting candles, fires, cookers, heating
boilers and a hundred other uses), while cigarettes are usually lit
with a lighter, so I had a similar problem.

I got 19 but I'm claiming 20. His answer for the merry-go-round is
incorrect. It rotates clockwise if viewed from the top. As you face it
the horses you can see all look to the left. If the device turned
anti-clockwise you'd be going backwards.

Followup. You people are short changed. Here, in Australia, a box of
matches has fifty matches.

If using Firefox hold down the control key and rotate the mouse wheel
or press the keypad + to change the viewing size. I think IE responds
the same way.

Maybe Down Under, but not here in the USA...

(and I missed, like, ALL of the phone questions...)

I got 15 of 25, and a couple I missed I know.

The question was not phrased as clearly as it might have been. They
were actually talking about *books* of matches. These things:

Not that I got the right answer either. I guessed at 24; one of my
five wrong answers.

I only got 21. One was so awful (the soup can) that I just guessed at
random. I can't remember the last time I opened a standard can of
Campbell's soup.
