The following is an e-mail from Russ. Just to clarify one comment he makes,
his doctor has told him his condition is terminal and he has the chioce to
fight or accept it.

This will be quick because I'm shot as usual.

Arrived at hospital around 8:30 yesterday morning. Left around 5:30
yesterday afternoon.

Ultrasound showed no liver problems. Didn't answer any questions but did
say some possible problems weren't problems after all.

Doesn't explain why the bilirubin count is crazy. Dr. Glode said that
could be a possible side effect of the DES (artificial hormore diethyl
stilbestrol), so I should just stop it since it's not working anyway.

Since I missed last weeks Chemo appointment because it though it was
another glitch in the on-line appointment screen and I didn't have it in my
calendar, yesterdays was #2 instead of #3.

I have two or three more before a two week pause. Then I see his assistant
(he's out of town that week) and we resume chemo, possibly with a different
drug (still uncertain).

He did remind me that we are pushing a string uphill and that if I wanted
to stop and pursue hospice options, I could do that. I said that I wanted
to keep fighting for now.

Feeling somewhat better now. It helps that the constant traipsing in and
out of people has slowed down, though one nurse called this morning and
said she wanted to come out at 11:30.

The Physicians Home Health contract cuts back from two visits per week to
one on Staturday. I guess they are struggling for everyone to get in one
last bill to Tricare. Three more from PHH show up tomorrow, one of whom
was here Monday. Like the others, she will listen to my heart and take
vital signs. She will then leave after drinking a bottle of water. The
other two should have some practical things to address.

Home care assistant Yvonne showed up as I was finishing breakfast this
morning. I forgot that she was scheduled, so I fed myself a bowl of
cereal. Just as well as that was almost too much for me. Appetite is back
on "who cares" setting again.

I want to get this out, take care of some bookkeeping for appointments and
deductible expenses, and then maybe get a few minutes rest before today's
nurse shows up.

I'm still sore from using new muscles moving this wheelchair.

Becky picked up a couple of $100 each tempurpedic pillows for cushions.
One works great in the office chair. The other is a little small for this
wheelchair. Maybe I'll get the next harger size for the wheelchair--if
there IS a next larger size before King. I'll ask her about that tonight.
The one in the office chair helps. Not sure about this one.

All for now. More when I have news and am able to write. For now, send
questions to Jarhead or Tom, though they won't know much more than this and
notning new until things change again.
