OK, before you mail-bomb ab...@aol.com, this is NOT from an aol
user. This guy's forged the From and Message-ID lines to look
like it's an aol account.

Can someone Finger the NNTP Posting Host and let me know results?
I can't do it from here.

You know, the forged headers seem to belie the first lines of the post:

The street name should be S Dowlen. If I'm thinking of the right apts,
they're the kind you'd expect a chain-letter geek to be living in...

I don't know about the cultural ambiance, but on my ways through to N.O.
and back, I did notice the *heavy* petroleum odor. Maybe we do *bore* oil
wells.

My favorite Beaumont story is how, at one Lamer, er, Lamar Univ. outdoor
graduation, in May (verrrrrry humid and overcast...) in the stadium, right
across from half-a-dozen refineries, the ladies' nylon stockings had holes
melted in them. This was in the '60s, before I was born, but not too long
before. <innocent grin>

People from Beaumont tend to be extremely dumb, extremely smart, or
extremely weird. I'll leave it to y'all to decide which group(s) I fit
into...
