I got up to answer the phone a few minutes ago, and when I was done my
largest fur-baby decided it was time for me to open a can for their
supper. Looking at the clock I decided he was right, so I grabbed one
off the shelf in the pantry and headed for the kitchen.

Remus (the biggest galoot) sideswiped me on the way, nearly knocking me
off my feet - twenty one pounds worth of manic hunger will do that - but
I was expecting it and had braced myself. I made it two more steps
before his brother Romulus, a mere 18 pounds, hit me on the other knee,
but again I was prepared and kept my footing.

Remus took up station at the nearest food dish, his brother at the next,
then the newest mini-galoot, Jake, came flying through, missed me, but
skidded on the linoleum and rear-ended Romulus. I'm not sure which was
more taken aback by this turn of events, but I was distracted from
helpless laughter by Remus pointedly reminding me of the, as yet
unopened can in my hand.

Ah, a house ruled by cats - it's a wonderful life ;-)

Toleration is not the opposite of intolerance but the counterfeit of it.
Both are despotisms: the one assumes to itself the right of withholding
liberty of conscience, the other of granting it.

Oh my word. That's priceless.

Funny, I was distracted by The Three Stooges this week ("Gents Without
Cents" short) and you sound like you have the complete floor show
going on all the time, Romulus, Remus and Jake. *8D

(Now what passes for "cat fun" in the Tac house is when the two cats
knock the forks and dishes off the kitchen table when we're not there
and they want sympathy. Or like this morning when my oldest, the
calico, insisted I follow her into the room with the electronics
setup, and she led me over to where some cat had knocked the whole
headphones thing off the top of the home entertainment unit (they know
they're not supposed to be up there) and I couldn't figure out if she
was saying "look what I did, and I am sorry" or "look what my brother
did and he's in trouble, right?")

ROFL indeed!

Now all I have to do is figure out how to run Photoshop so I can make a
Christmas portrait with all seven of the cats here. Certain combinations
will co-exist for short periods, others are "mutually exclusive". The only
way to get them all together is to "cheat" with Photoshop.

And it's only right that it be that way! (my furkids told me to tell
you that...)
