There are two routes for Martin to follow. One, the most likely, is to
continue on the sidewalk that cuts through from Twin Trees to Retreat
View Circle and then take the common area sidewalk to his home where he
was saying.

That would also fit with what Zimmerman claims happened. Zimmerman lost
track of him per his statement. He then continued down that same
sidewalk to Retreat View Circle to get a house number. After getting it
he was returning to his vehicle which was parked on Twin Trees and was
going to meet the police at the mailboxes. He said that Martin
approached him from the left. That configuration of sidewalks places
Martin where you would expect him to be if he was, in fact, heading home.

If you look at Martin's other route it would be Martin cutting in between
the groups of townhomes and ending up on the common area sidewalk.

If Zimmerman lost track of Martin, it would make no sense for him to cut
between the houses on Twin Trees since he had no idea where Martin was
headed or where he was staying. Between the two of them, Martin was the
only one who knew he was staying at Brandy Green's townhome.

I am not taking any sides here, just looking at what would be the most
likely paths each may have taken. Zimmerman per his statement and Martin
by knowing where he was going.

Think about that for a moment. Zimmerman lost track of Martin and had no
idea where Martin was headed. How would he assume that he could simply
cut around a line of units and have Martin headed off?

You are accepting Zimmerman's word for it that he lost track of
Martin. It's not like he doesn't have enough reasons to lie.

No - about 150 feet. That's not far. It's not nearly as far as Martin
was away from his home - about 235 miles. If Martin hadn't got kicked
out of school, for at least the third time, with a bag of dope, he'd
have been in Miami.
