I'm battening down the hatches, hon. I'll stay again, just like I did in
Katrina. The kids are gone - Matt and his wife to her family a bit north of
here, and Shawn to Hattiesburg, MS with her boyfriend's family. I'll try to
sleep through most of it. The electricity will go pretty quickly, so it's
going to be hotter than hell. I'll let you know if my new (post Katrina)
roof holds up. I do wish I'd gone to the library yesterday. I don't have
anything I really want to read. Oh, well, too late now. I'll find something.
Maybe re-read some King.

Thanks so much for your concern. I do appreciate it.

Check in with someone ASAP once it passes, just to let us know you're
okay. I read this morning that Gustav has weakened to a cat 2, and FEMA
is saying it won't be as bad as Katrina, but how can anyone possibly
trust this particular FEMA? Let's hope the assessment is correct.

Hang in there,hon.

We're all fine. I ended up staying with Merritt across town so I wouldn't be
alone. The power came back on at his house around 7 p.m. yesterday. A hot
shower never felt so good. There is a good bit of wind damage, but nothing
on the scale of Katrina where every other home was damaged and almost all
the power lines were down. I didn't have power for two months after K. My
power is still out at this point. Hopefully, this time it will only be a
matter of a week or so. We're still getting a lot of rain and tornados, but
hopefully those will clear out soon.

Over all, things here are fine. Thanks!
