Is revit 4.5 usable without Internet connection?

Most of the activity on alt.cad.revit is being posted through
news.revit.com which can be accessed directly or through
http://www.revit.com/auditorium/amain_online.html. The activity posted
through the Revit news server however has not been propagating to
other news servers worldwide for a few months now. We are looking to
solve that problem, but meanwhile the result is that postings to
alt.cad.revit on other news servers show up on the Revit server, but
postings from the Revit server don't show up outside the Revit server
on other servers. That's why the group looks pretty much empty if you
are accessing it from a different news server.
